INFORMATION

THE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY CHARGES THAT:

COUNT 1

On or about August 11, 2008, and continuing up through on or about October 8,

2008, in the District of Alaska, in the maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United

States, the defendant Victor D. Chavez-Ramirez, while on board the vessel FV Frontier

Spirit, did sexually harass a National Marine Fisheries Service employed observer, as

those terms are defined in 50 C.F.R. §§ 600.10 and 679.7(g)(5).

All in violation of Title 16 United States Code Section 1857(1)(L)

COUNT 2

On or about August 11, 2008, and continuing up through on or about October 8,

2008, in the District of Alaska, in the maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United

States, the defendant Victor D. Chavez-Ramirez, while on board the vessel FV Frontier

Spirit, did sexually harass and forcibly sexually assault a National Marine Fisheries

Service employed observer, as those terms are defined in 50 C.F.R. §§ 600.10 and

679.7(g)(5), to wit, by grabbing the observer’s breast and crotch areas, forcing her to turn

her body away from him and leave the area..

All in violation of Title 16 United States Code Section 1857(1)(L)

COUNT 3

On or about August 11, 2008, and continuing up through on or about October 8,

2008, in the District of Alaska, in the maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United

States, the defendant Victor D. Chavez-Ramirez, while on board the vessel FV Frontier

Spirit, did interfere with a National Marine Fisheries Service employed observer by

sexually harassing and sexually assaulting the observer, as those terms are defined in 50

C.F.R. §§ 600.10 and 679.7(g)(5), to wit, by grabbing the observer’s breast and crotch

areas, forcing her to turn her body away from him and leave the area and thereby

interfering with the observer’s ability to collect fisheries data.

All in violation of Title 16 United States Code Section 1857(1)(L)
