The Faculty: This course will be team taught by the same faculty that teaches the first
year course in gross anatomy at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
This course has been the highest ranked course by the students in the School of
Medicine for the past 5 years. Faculty include the course director, Neal A. Rubinstein,
MD, PhD, James S. White, PhD. , and Michael Speirs, PhD.
Tuition: $4,000 which will include gloves, dissection instruments, scrubs, and one
atlas per dissection table.
Enrollment: Enrollment will be limited. The course is designed for students interested
in a career in the heath professions, but is open to any undergraduates who have
completed their sophomore year in college and who have satisfactorily completed an
introductory course in biology. This course would be an exciting introduction to gross
anatomy for pre-medical students, nursing students, and students interested in the
biomedical sciences, as well as students preparing to enter medical school in the fall
of 2009. Undergraduates from the University of Pennsylvania need to have permission
from the course director (Dr. Rubinstein; nrubinst@mail.med.upenn.edu) to take this
course. Undergraduates from other colleges should fill out the application form and
send it with a $50 non-refundable application fee to
