SAP Proxy Configuration

Overview
The aim of the document is to provide instructions for configuring SAP Proxy Send Ports and
Receive Locations.

Send Port Configuration


Send Ports can either be configured as Solicit-Response or One-Way. Transactional RFC
Send Ports need to be one-way ports, since they do not return any results from a SAP proxy
call.

Select BizTalk Utilities Adapter for SAP Proxy Transport within the Transport Type drop-down
list.

To configure specific properties for the Adapter, click on the ellipses (…).
Specify the Size of Message Batches. A Value of 0 switches Batching off.
• Autocommit
Automatically commits BAPI calls without having to explicitly call BAPI_COMMIT. The
property does not apply to Transactional Rfc Calls.
• Throw Exception when no Records are found
Specifies if an Exception should be thrown when no records are returned by the Rfc call.

Pipeline Configuration
Select the default XML Send and Receive Pipelines for the Send Port.

The following properties can be configured:

• SAP Destination
Here you select a SAP Destination as defined in the Administration Snap-In. SAP
Destinations can also be created from this interface by selecting <New Destination>. Receive Port Configuration
• Batch Size Receive Ports can either be configured as Request-Response or One-Way.
Select BizTalk Utilities Adapter for SAP Proxy Transport within the Transport Type drop-down
list.

To configure specific properties for the Adapter, click on the ellipses (…).

The following properties can be configured:

• Program Id
This is the SAP RFC Destination Program Id.
• SAP Destination
Here you select a SAP Destination as defined in the Administration Snap-In. SAP
Destinations can also be created from this interface by selecting <New Destination>.
• Server Instances
Here you specify the number of SAP Server Instances that will be created to listen for
inbound RFC Calls.
• Archiving
Here you specify the BizTalk Schema for the Proxy.

Selecting a Schema
The Receive Location needs some knowledge as to which RFC calls to listen for. You specify
this by selecting the BizTalk Schema that was generated for the Proxy.

First deploy your generated Schema to BizTalk Server before selection.

Click on the ellipses (…) within the Proxy Schema property.

Enter the name of the Sql Server that is hosting your BizTalk Server Management Database
and the name of your BizTalk Management Database. Alternatively you can accept the
defaults provided and click on the Next button.
Select the BizTalk Schema that you want to use and click on the Finish Button. Your schema is now selected and the Receive Location will only listen for calls for the
Specified RFC.

Pipeline Configuration
