 Secondly, I am called to COMMUNICATE His
heart to my generation, a message flowing from
the place of intercession. Doing this prophetically,
through teaching, writing, and the arts.
 Nations, regions and cities compel me. Malachi
1:11 is my life assignment. I am still a
missionary at heart (from my YWAM days) and
know I will always be a “sent one. “ Practically, I
long for Boston, and hope to return one day. Lord
willing. Meanwhile, it is in the place of
intercession, that I believe God for GREAT
EXPLOITS.
 I also cry out to God to redeem the arts and raise
up an army of lovesick, worshipping artists and
musicians, to release a SIGHT and SOUND of
love to the end time generation.

“Even those I will bring to My Holy Mountain, and make them joyful in My House of Prayer. Their burnt
offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; for My House will be called
a House of Prayer for all nations.” –Isaiah 56:7
 First 6 Months…
“Intro to IHOP, Track 1” Internship
And “The Secret Place.”

As most of you know, I have been here at IHOP, in KC, since

this past June. For me, it was very surreal, to finally be here!
Here in a place of actual thriving, 24/7 night & day prayer! I
had visited Kansas City and the Global Prayer Room a handful
of times before, but had never felt “released” to actually
move here. For the past four years, I had been extremely
committed & involved with the building of the house of
prayer in Boston, MA. (JHOP Boston-Justice House of Prayer.)
But there was a puzzle-piece in my life, shaped like this: “IHOP
KC,” which was waiting for the fullness of time to be fulfilled.
(I had almost moved to KC in 2005, but instead moved to
Boston then.) Now, is the very fullness of time for me. I came
to KC this early summer, upon clear direction from the Lord;
which I received during a period of 40 days of prayer and
fasting in Boston in the spring of '10.

I have been very busy with all the requirements that come
with this kind of training. From June to August, I was enrolled
in a 50 hr./week internship called, “Intro to IHOP, Track 1.”
From small groups, to 24 hours a week in the prayer room
(yes 24!) to daily classes/training, etc. It was a power-packed
time! It was also a time for going deeper into more layers of
healing in my heart, etc. I came during a time when an active
“Awakening & Revival” was taking place here. Many people
were healed of various diseases. It was an incredible summer
of more freedom, transformation, and worship in my life! It
was a time of falling more in love with Jesus. This summer has
set me on course for what I will continue to do for the rest of
my life, wherever the Lord might take me.

From September until now, I have felt the Lord was drawing
me into a season of “The Secret Place.” I spent many “hidden
hours” in the prayer room, as an intercessor. Also, just as a
worshipper, a “Mary of Bethany” and a lover of God. I also
became very intentional with study of the Word and other
curriculum. I also began to audit/take a few classes at IHOPU
University. These two classes currently occupy 10+ hours
weekly. They are “Christ in the Old Testament” and “Theology
of Night & Day Prayer.” These classes are completely ruining
me! It is becoming very, very clear, that God is equipping me
personally, Melissa Haskin, to build His house of prayer in
the earth. I believe over the past few years, I have
discovered prophetic and artistic gifting, etc., but it is NOW
that I am really discovering my ACTUAL ASSIGNMENT.

The Fifth of November!

One last special story:

Six weeks before leaving, I woke one morning with the

prophetic phrase as above. I didn’t know what it meant,
but wrote it in my journal. Later, it seemed significant, as
we travelled to Cali that very day! The 5th of Nov.!

and evangelize on the Strip! The timing of this was down
to the minute, the Lord was ordering our steps!! We ended
up sharing the love of God with a young soldier and his
friend. Sure enough, we noticed he had that very slogan
tattooed on his neck!!!Exactly one year ago that day (Nov.
5th) he had lost 5 buddies in the war in Iraq. He was
memorializing them and grieving them. God really broke
in and ministered to this young one! He was so touched
that God had seen him and sought him out personally!

Please keep praying for the Valencia House of Prayer, the Desert House of Prayer,
and the San Clarita Valley. Pray for the colleges therein, including Cal Arts Institute. Pray also for a couple
we stayed with in Colorado, who does ministry with Native Americans.
 What’s Next? Stay Connected!
I will be continuing to live here in KC this next year, as a full time intercessory
missionary. In January, I will be starting another 12 week internship. I need to raise HEADLINE
money
for this cost, as well as raise my monthly support level, which is very low at this time.
