About CityMedia Foundation
• An independent foundation based in Lausanne (Switzerland)
• Started in 2007 following the Rome 2006 “World Congress on Communication for
Development”
• Aim: to facilitate access to information on the towns, cities and regions of the
world helping in in global development by simplifying communication, access to
information and knowledge sharing ,stimulating curiosity, learning and respect,
synonymous for evolution
• Also offers and promotes tools to city and region representatives to spread
official communication and collaborate on a wider level for development
About City Media members
• 65 members from 15 countries who are contributing to these systems’
development and promotion
• Mainly from fields of communications, marketing, management and technology
analysis
• Working continuously in close contact to improve the available tools and create
new tools for local information
The Concept
• A network of 68,000 city specific video sites promoting direct local information
delivery through video
• Currently covering city tour, news, events and professional videos on the cities
and regions of the world
• A simple access model: “city name” followed by “.vi”. For eg. Dubai.vi, Seoul.vi,
Berlin.vi . Neat, isn’t it?
• Visit the central network page City.vi to look for new cities
• You are among the first to know about the network. So spread the word around to
friends , family and colleagues

• Video sharing among the most popular application on social networking sites

current affairs embodying “Citizens’ Information Pooling”
• Easy and wide spread user generation of videos due to increased use of digital cameras,
camcorders and mobile phones for video recording
