Dear Kestutis,
EX100192 – Sewage Treatment Plant - Punta Cana - Dominican Republic
Further to our meeting regarding the new development being built in Punta Cana we are pleased to provide a
proposal for a number of our options using our well established range of SAF and ASP treatment plants for
this application. We have also offered optional prices for some unique Integrated UV systems that do not
require wiper systems.
As you now know Conder have been producing environmental solutions to the highest standards for over 40
years in addition to having a well established name in the market place. Therefore Giving you the assurance of
receiving a quality product.
We have studied the information you have supplied and produced the enclosed Customer Data Profile sheets
using the British Water Code of Practice – Flows and Loads 3: Sizing Criteria, Treatment Capacity for Small
Wastewater Treatment Systems – Package Plants (BWCoP) data as a basis for our assumptions.
We understand the influent to the plant comes from the following sources on the Punta Cana development in
the Dominican Republic:
• Luxury Hotel with 160 rooms = 320 residents maximum
• 5 x smaller hotel/ apartments with 16 rooms each = 5 x 32 = 160 residents (We have assumed
Hotels are 3*/4* for loading profile).
• 100 x staff across all commercial building and hotels (50 for large hotel 50 for small hotels and
shopping centre).
• 50 toilet uses maximum per day from shopping centre.
• 340 number 4 to 6 bed villas (sized as standard residential loading) assuming an average of 5 bed
rooms per house then we would use a maximum occupancy of 7 per property. As there is a large
quantity properties we propose to use a reduction factor of 0.8. Therefore = 340 x 6 x 0.8 = 1904.
To allow you to assess the most economic and practical way to transport and install the systems we will offer
varous options:
Option 1 will be to treat the entire site with 2 systems. One for the residential properties and one for the hotels
and toilet users.
Option 2 will be to treat the residential site with 10 smaller unitank systems, and have one plant for the large
hotel and staff and one to treat the toilet users and the five smaller hotels and staff.
In this option the drainage must be separated to give the correct loading to each plant i.e. 34 properties
draining to each plant.
1 of 10
We have also included prices for our ASP systems, the prices given assumes that you will be ordering
multiple plants. You can select whatever arrangement that you feel is adequate when using these systems.
Up to a 4 bed property would require an ASP6, 5 to 8 bed properties would need a ASP12. You can also use
larger ASPs units and treat two or three villas at a time. For example two number five bed properties and one
number four bed propoty treated together would need an ASP20 plant.
The Customer Data Profile sheets (pages 3 and 4 of this document) is our interpretation of the loading data
and we have assumed the maximum influent loading to be:
Option 1\2 - Residential Villas Option 1 - Hotels and toilet users
Flow (max) 145,500 l/day Flow (max) 342,720 l/day
BOD 53.04 kg/d ( 365 mg/l) BOD 114.24 kg/d ( 365 mg/l)
NH3\4 6.07 kg/d ( 42 mg/l). NH3\4 15.23 kg/d ( 42 mg/l).
Option 2 - Large hotel Option 2 - Small hotels and toilet users
Flow (max) 100,500 l/day Flow (max) 45,000 l/day
BOD 35.50 kg/d ( 353 mg/l) BOD 17.54 kg/d ( 390 mg/l)
NH3\4 4.09 kg/d ( 41 mg/l). NH3\4 1.98 kg/d ( 44 mg/l).

Option 2: Residential villas
We have selected 10 of our SAF200 N20 unitank systems. Each system has a combined primary settlement
zone, SAF biozone and humus settlement zone in one tank. (10 tanks in total).
= £28,000.00 per plant = £280,000.00 Ex Works
Optional items associated with the plant are detailed in the Proposal Summary section of this document.
Conder would strongly recommend fitting of a grease separator on any commercial kitchen drain to prevent
accumulations of oils, fats and greases in the sewage treatment plant. Excessive oils, fats and greases in the
sewage treatment plant can seriously compromise the treatment process.
We have offered standard Conder Products equipment and have not included for any client specific
specifications. If these become available we reserve the right to adjust our proposal accordingly.
We trust that this equipment proposal meets your requirements, if you need any clarification or additional
information please do not hesitate to contact me.
This proposal is valid for a period of 30 days from issue date. This proposal contains the following sections:

Discharge Consent
We have designed the quoted Clereflo system based on achieving the following discharge consent as may imposed by the
local regulatory body.
BOD5 20 mg/l
Suspended Solids 30 mg/l
Ammoniacal Nitrogen NH3\4 20 mg/l
Please note, that it is the client’s responsibility to obtain a consent to discharge from the applicable environmental regulator.
Nitrification
For effective ammoniacal nitrogen treatment it is essential that the incoming water supply has a sufficiently high level of
total alkalinity (as calcium carbonate). This needs to be a minimum of 7.1 times that of the ammoniacal nitrogen to be
removed plus a margin. For the duty in this data sheet the incoming waste water needs a minimum carbonate content of:
315.56 mg/l
Desludging
SAF systems maximum interval between de-sludging of Primary Tank:60 to 90 days (at full plant loading)
ASP systems maximum interval between de-sludging of Primary Tank:1 to 3 years (at full plant loading)
General Notes
The instantaneous flow of sewage into the treatment plant should not exceed the peak hydraulic flow stated above and
should not last for more than 10 minutes.
It may be found that your specific application produces lower or higher sewage loads than specified. Consequently, the
quoted Clereflo sewage treatment system may have spare process capacity or could be too small to achieve the required
target consent. The minimum loading for all sewage treatment plants of this type would be 20% of the maximum loading.
Alternatively if the loading is less than this a phasing solution can be provided, please contact us for details.
Conder Environmental Solutions requires the removal of Fats Oils & Greases (FOGs) from any commercial kitchens prior to
any faecal waste stream treatment, grease separators can be quoted separately on request.
The quoted system is for the treatment of waste streams containing faecal products only.
Our quoted treatment system makes no allowance for additional loadings on the treatment plant imposed by waste disposal
units or garbage grinders. If these are used in the system additional treatment capacity may be required to meet the required
discharge quality which can be quoted on request.
All surface water connections must be excluded from the drainage discharging to the plant.
Our quoted treatment system is designed to achieve the required discharge consent based on the above influent conditions.

Balance Tank
The influent is received in the balance tank there the flow is split three ways via our unique bucket lift
elevator design, the bucket lift elevators are arranged in three sets of two. The balance tank also stores peak
flows over prolonged periods while continuously feeding forward into the primary settlement stage at a
uniform rate. Besides eliminating hydraulic peaks, any organic shock loadings are also minimised due to the
dilution effect in the balance tank.

Ammonia Removal
Depending on the plant sizing and the discharge consent requirement, the SAF plant is capable of
biologically removing ammonia from the incoming wastewater (nitrification). Nitrification is a well-accepted
process whereby specific strains of bacteria consume the available ammoniacal nitrogen.
The following conditions are required to achieve and sustain nitrification by biological means and are
therefore assumed to present / available for the application under consideration (where nitrification is
required):
1. Sufficient Alkalinity (in excess of seven times the ammonia content to be removed)
2. High levels of dissolved oxygen (DO)
3. Low residual BOD
4. Incoming pH of 6 - 8
5. Water temperature of not less than 10oC
6. Absence of any substances which inhibit nitrification
Electrical Controls
All electrical controls (the control panel) are housed within an enclosure suitable for interior mounting, which
is housed within the plant kiosk.
The SAF600 N20 plant selected for this application requires a three phase electrical supply capable of both
starting and running the various internal drives.
Plant Kiosk
The blower(s), electrical controls, forward feed solenoid valves and humus return solenoid valves / pump
controls (depending on plant type) are all housed within a painted mild steel kiosk. The kiosk has a front
opening door and is fitted with visual alarm indication (flashing beacon). The size of the kiosk varies with the
plant size - please contact us for details.
In standard configuration the aeration blowers produce a noise level of around 75dBa @ 1m free field
conditions. An acoustically lagged kiosk is available as an option item which reduces the level of noise
emitted by approximately 10dBa @ 1m free field conditions. As with all plants of this type there will be a
certain level of noise. Should the site be noise sensitive, the location of the kiosk should be considered
carefully. Please call us for further information.

Conder ASP Plants
The Clereflo ASP treatment plant comprises a single tank. Within the tank there is an inner central bio-zone
chamber and an outer settlement zone. The plant accepts and treats the incoming sewage, using the extended
aeration principle, in the central bio-zone chamber. A simple coarse bubble diffuser, housed in a draft tube,
introduces the air that provides the oxygen to the bacteria, which then treats the sewage.
The bio-zone retains the mixture of sewage and bacteria until the level of treatment has been achieved. The
treated effluent then enters the settlement zone where settlement takes place. The settled solids are drawn
back towards the draft tube, with the diffuser in it, and are returned via the airlift principle to the bio-zone for
further treatment.
The treated (final) effluent subsequently leaves the plant over a weir, at the outlet level, that extends around
the circumference of the tank. The movement of fluid through the whole system is by gravity displacement.
There are no moving parts in the treatment plant.
