Going Out with a Bang

Come Together Closing Party

Come Together @ Space Ibiza – September 9th 2010 at 7 pm

(Ibiza, September 2010) Summer is turning its back on most of us and its
hospitable heat is drawing to a close. Except for Ibiza where the sun is still
shining and everyone is getting ready for the last big parties of the Ibiza
season. Yes, the Come Together closing party at Space Ibiza is upon us
and it is your last chance of this summer to experience the excitement
firsthand. With attendance numbers through the roof, Space has secured
its trendsetting reputation once again with a first of its kind mini-festival
concept that welcomes clubbers with a stunning line-up week after week.
The closing party on September 9th has most definitely saved the best for
last with the special announcement that Mark Ronson is returning to
headline the party, joined by eminent performers Riva Starr, Vitalic (live),
Tinie Tempah (live), Mark Knight, Dave Spoon and many more. Monza Ibiza
will also be playing the Sunset Terrace with Nima Gorji, Vera and Paco
Osuna. Left with no choice but to say goodbye to its first season, Come
Together has decided to go out with a bang. Definitely a party not to miss.

In the world of clubbing nothing evolves solely through logic. Event organisers
have to be flexible and instinctive, coming out with the right concept at the right
time. Judging from the massive success of Come Together this summer, Ibiza
clubbers from around the world were starving for something new: Come Together
delivered with more than 80 superstar DJs and live acts, plus a broad range of
musical styles alongside jaw-dropping light shows, and the booming sound of
Space’s sensational soundsystem. All this at a very fair entry price of 30 euros.
Safehouse founder Lynn Cosgrave, who developed the Come Together concept,
said it was a real challenge to blend new styles and trends into a party night that
would meet the diverse needs of Ibiza clubbers. In fact, the club night was filled
to the brim and feedback was tremendously positive. "We managed a fine
balance that was reflected in the obvious enjoyment of each and every person
that joined the party," says a jubilant Lynn. "The mix of DJ talent and live acts
gelled perfectly. It’s all been amazing. We have been so pleased to welcome
everyone and hope they enjoyed the night so much they’ll be coming back next
year."

Looking back, the first Come Together summer will be remembered for an
exceptional and joyous mix of influences full of contrasts and collective visions:
Highlights include Leftfield who played their only live show in Ibiza, an
extravagant performance by Faithless, as well as Grandmaster Flash and a
back-to-back set by Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe recorded live for BBC Radio
1’s Essential Mix. The evening with Kelis was fantastic. Lynn reports, "Kelis
was so down to earth that she changed after her show and joined the party on
the dance floor." Dim Mak label head Steve Aoki even called the organisers a
few days after his terrific show asking if he could play again this summer. And the
breathtaking ride continued with an eclectic evening featuring Hip Hop superstars
Salt N’ Pepa and techno vanguard Adam Beyer. The roster reads like a Who’s
Who of electronic dance music with terrific performers such as Josh Wink,
Calvin Harris, Marcel Dettmann, Bookashade, Armand van Helden, Skream,
Benga and Mark Knight. Brooklyn’s Danny Tenaglia headlining the Italian night
with Mauro Picotto and Simi was a special night. The future of drum and bass
was reaffirmed thanks to Pendulum, Chase & Status and Subfocus taking over
the Covered Terrace. Of course it’s also the club goers who made Come
Together a massive success. "Respect to each and every person who came
down to enjoy themselves,“ says Lynn. "We can’t wait to get cracking on things
for next year. We’ll be back bigger and better!"

It’s a promise that’s easy to believe given that the other Ibiza project close to
Lynn’s heart – the Carl Cox night at Space – has been an overwhelming success
with record numbers of guests this summer. "Overall, we have the highest
numbers ever. Not only have we managed to bring the most people through the
door that Space has EVER seen (apart from opening and closing nights), but the
night featuring Fatboy Slim, Carl and John Digweed truly tore the place apart,"
raves Lynn. "Next year is Carl Cox’s 10th year at Space so we are planning a big
season for Thursday night at Space too. Can’t wait!"

For now though we will see you on September 9th at the Come Together closing
party for what promises to be the island’s most mind blowing party of the season.
