Why English department students cheat in exams?

During these past years in English department cheating becomes a very frequently used as a method to prevent failure. Some don’t
learn, some want higher grades, some are unsecure, foreign and not punished, and a few of them they simple fear failing and lower
grades. It goes so far that some of them want to show their predominance, for many unknown reasons, their cheating ability, to
cheat and not to get caught.

TIME MANAGEMNT SEEMS TO BE A MAIN REASON WHY ENGLISH STUDENTS CHEAT IN EXAMS. I am here in Pristina for three years
now, and during these years I have got a lot of experience due to the stories I’ve heard dedicated to students who were not able to
manage time, the few I remember clearly are: A first year student went after bars and night clubs, didn’t learn, the exams came and
he cheated but at the end failed. I have heard about a girl who had worked as a cashier in a bar, 12 hour’ per day, making unable to
learn. But the most interesting story I personally saw and experienced with my own eyes was that a roommate of mine, who also
was a student of English department, was so lazy that eating was a big energy lost for him, not mentioning learning. And for all
these persons cheating was the only way out, but there are a few students that cheat for better results, to avoid learning, unsecure
on themselves and afraid of lower grades and failure.

PRESSURE, LACK OF CONFIDENT AND THE INABILITY TO MEMORISE IS ANOTHER RESON TO CHEAT. There are too many
reasons why students of the English department cheat. Everyone is forced to cheat who does not learn. Some unable to adopt, not
being able to memorize from the teachers book, to the examination form of the teacher, lead to cheating. They cannot learn by
heart. It is unmanageable for some students. Some cheat because they fear failing and have a lack of confident, whether they
learned enough or not, or are they going to take a bad grade. But one of the most frequent problem is the pressure from the family,
whether financial problems or other reasons, oblige them to cheat only to avoid the pressure, the eventual punishment,
dishonouring the family etc., by not being able to pass the exams.

DESIDERATED PLACES, SAME TEST, NO PUNISHMENT, STUDENTS INCOURAGED TO CHEAT. The capacities of classes, chairs
and space are less than the enrolling students of English language and literature. Classes too small, chairs to least and less space
with a great number of big groups are impossible to be managed or controlled. And even harder with the newest technology and
methods used to cheat. Miniature copies are the classic, up to Bluetooth earphones, hidden under a cup or hair. One group for the
whole class, the same test for years and a disregarded teacher the perfect timing, circumstances to cheat even easier. This kind of
students do not have what to lose so they risk everything knowing that nothing and nobody is going to harm or prejudice them

Nowadays, cheating is even easier than before decades, thankfully to the advance of technology. But stress, pressure and everything
that leads to cheating can be controlled and of course managed to a great extend and degree. If you have to learn by heart, learn it,
if you work, study how much you can, if you have pressure from family or other things, just ignore them, but if you cannot do any of
these then cheat, but when you cheat, cheat with grace.
