The Primary functionality of the MEA Enrollment system is the Member Management. This
system feeds the membership data to all other systems in need, like Capitation, Claims, billing and
Sales & Marketing etc.
MEA Enrollment System Stores Policy holder Enrollment Data called as Member Data. Member
entry can be done in two ways. One is Using Online Interface System. The data can be entered and
modified by the Member itself. Another one is thru batch Jobs data can be loaded from the flat files
into the Database. The Flat Files will be prepared by us manually as per the request. There is different
type of transactions available in MEA enrollment. Each transaction has a unique code. Based on the
transaction code the system will process the data. Members can trigger these transactions through
online or they can raise a request to customer service to do the same. The transactions triggered
through online during the day will be processed by the daily night cycle jobs. These jobs will pick the
transactions from the queue and validate the data. If there is any error, the transaction will be moved
to pending database; otherwise the transactions will be updated into the active database

Project: Mercury First

Mercury First project involves creation of personal auto policies for different states. This project
involves executing the Smoke, Rating and Endorsement suite every time when code is being deployed.
The mercury first project also deals with Agile methodology of work assessment. It provides support
for 4 states in US in preparation of policies for personal auto Insurance. The project also undergoes
Regression validation on various builds of the application covering the main aspects in the functionality
and scope of personal insurance among all the four states in various development and QA
environments. The project also provides test data tool that used in preparation of sample data that
emulates the real life data for both development of new scope and validating it.

locations in India are Coimbatore and Hyderabad. As part of taking over the application testing and
quality assurance activities, a distinct knowledge transfer phase was include in the project plan.

Description:
The BCBS Association has developed a 10-year plan in which all Inter-Plan processing is
being evaluated to determine necessary application changes that would increase provider
satisfaction, increase Blue System membership, and compete in the consumer-driven
healthcare market.

BCBSA has defined that Blue Plan and ITS systems limitations contribute to provider
dissatisfaction with claims accuracy and timeliness and often result in duplicate claim
submissions.

System limitations include the inability to process claims

2) In excess of $999,999.99 and
3) In excess of 9999 units of service.

My Role:

2. Thomas – Solomon Prior Authorization - NASCO

Description:
Prior Authorization is primarily for the claims process based on the procedure codes and
to verify whether the authorization is bypassed or removed for the corresponding claim. On an
unscheduled annual basis the operational list of services and supplies requiring prior
authorization is pulled and modified for removal of authorization. The List is for managed
groups of PPO, POS and DA products are considered such as Fully insured, ASO, SHBP and
Small groups.
The services are listed based on each specialty and marked as a new incident in the
project tracking data base and each service is mapped to ensure that they either bypass or
removed from authorization. The authorization of the procedure code is determined by means
of verification in the GENO tables meant for each logic. Moreover the providers that are used
are to be updated in the ADMIN file so as to provide the actual results to be met.

Description:
The clearinghouse handles all the events involving the processing of a cheque as a single entity.
The main job of the clearinghouse will be the elimination of the customer level operations - the
customer deposits the cheque and the bank level operations - bank sends the information about the
cheque to the clearing house through batch mode. The information will be a summary of records
pertaining to the various cheques (paid to different banks) deposited by its customers for collection.
The clearinghouse will sort the given data with respect to each bank and send the records to those
banks for confirmation of payment.
