Bachelor of Mass Communication

The Bachelor of Mass Communication began in semester 1 2002.

This degree has been designed to develop critical, articulate and employable graduates and
offers five major areas of study that have been tailored to meet industry demand.

These major areas of study have a practical and applied emphasis giving students real life
industry skills in:

Communication and Media Studies


Journalism
Media Production
Organisation and Business Communication
Professional Marketing
Public Relations

Students will be able to complete the 24 subjects of the degree by;

Selecting two majors from either Communication and Media Studies, Journalism (Print and
Broadcast), Media Production (Audio, Video and Multimedia), Organisation and Business
Communication, Professional Marketing and Public Relations.

Selecting up to 4 additional courses from the majors above together with another 6 courses
from elsewhere in the Faculty of Arts.

HECS - normal rates will apply for Australian students.
