Word or Man’s Word -
Who is in charge? Who has the say? Part 1
There are people in this world who state, God has talked to men on
earth through his Word. And they say this Word is holy. And then,
there are even some people, who say it is infallible from the first until
the last letter of the book, which is called: Bible - the Old and New
Testament. It’s old and dusty, old language, bizarre and fantastical sto-
ries, whom they say, they have been true in past times: Divided seas, fire
falling from heaven, grotesque prophecies. And at last this story about
Jesus, he will come back in glory and save them that believe in him?
Why is it that one part of the human race believes so firmly that the
Bible is the total word of God, infallible and just and for our good,
whilst others go from doubting the Bible as far as to despising it and
would utterly destroy it? Why would people let themselves be burnt at
the stake for the Scriptures, whereas other people would rather burn the
Scriptures to ashes? How can there be such a difference? Is the so-called
‘Word of God’, are the ‘Holy Scriptures’ everything or nothing? Are
they truth or lie? The Scriptures, the ‘Holy Bible’: what role does it play
in these days, the 21st century? So what is motivating quite an amount
of people of today’s population to believe in the Bible as their ultimate
guide and standard of all things? What is it that lets them defend their
truth as far as until death? How can it be that they are willing to burn
for the truth they have found in the Bible?
Now, if a book has such a power as to make them steadfast unto death,
who hold fast on the teachings found therein, as well as to arouse such
fierce anger against the selfsame as lead people to slaughter them in the
most cruel ways, it seems, one simply has to examine what this piece of
paper is all about.
Now there are two basic ways how to examine the significance and
reliance of the Bible. First of all, what does the Bible say about itself?
And: Can its claims and teachings be backed up by facts, science, and
history? In this Newsletter we will provide a small study upon what the
Bible claims about itself. One is invited to open the Scripture himself,
and concern, whether these things are so. Next months issue will cover
scientific and historical facts in answer to these questions.
The Bible states it is the Word of God. The Scripture, and not only
the New Testament but all Scripture, that includes the Old Testament,
is given by inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16). In fact in the beginning
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1,2) The Bible claims,
that the Word was to be embodied in Jesus: And the Word was made
flesh, and dwelt among us… (John 1:14)
The Word of God was given by his Son and through his people by the
Holy Spirit. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2
Peter 1:21) and God … who spake in time past unto the fathers by the
prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son. (Hebrews
1:1,2) (Also see John 15,26-27 / John 16,13)
The Bible was written for everybody; go ye therefore, and teach all na-
tions, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the
world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19,20)
The Bible is written for your good. It is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
And the Scriptures are able to make us wise unto salvation through
faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15) Just as the physical body
requires aliments to survive, our spiritual being needs to be nourished
by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, (Matthew 4:4) in
order to live.
The Bible is true, just and everlasting. Sanctify them through thy
truth, thy Word is truth. (John 17:17) Since the Bible is claimed to be the
Word of God, it has to have the same characteristics as God, the Au-
thor, himself. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are
judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
(Deuteronomy 32:4) And being a perfect God he invites you to come up
higher and be therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven
is perfect. (Matthew 5:48) And your God is a loving God, for every word of
God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Prov-
erbs 30:5) This word
of promise can be
trusted in, for the grass
withereth, the flower
fadeth: but the word
of our God shall stand
for ever. (Isaiah 40:8)
(Also see Proverbs 30:6 /
Hebrews 1:12.13 / 1 John
1:5 / 2 Samuel 22:31)
As you read God’s Word, your own thoughts, feelings, your will,
your desires and intentions come in collision with God’s Word. One
should know that collisions are not always comfortable. This requires
a decision – for your own will or for God’s Word.
The Word: Promise or Duty?
The Word of God is being described as the lamp shed unto our way
and the light unto our path. (Psalm 119:11) The entrance of thy words
giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. (Psalm 119:130)
There is a promise to us, who walk in the light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
If you have received the light and understanding, as it is in God’s
Word, and have claimed the promises, which makes you shine, there
is no way getting around to carry out your duty as it is described in the
gospel in Matthew 5:14-16: Ye are the light of the world. … Let your
light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and
glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Ministry Update:
Yasar Eden will exhibit at GYC this upcoming decem-
ber! Come and meet us there and get to know more about
what we do, about our goals and projects. For more in-
formation on GYC, visit this website:
www.gycweb.org
The Lord worked in marvellous ways to make it possible
for us to exhibit at GYC, and we are thrilled and full of
gratitude at the thought!
Please pray for our stay there, and that the results of the
meetings and exhibitions might be that the three angel’s
messages - God’s last warning message so full of love to
this perishing world - will be spread more quickly and be
extended to far more places than it is now already.
We look forward to meet some of you there and we are
always happy to hear from all our Readers and Support-
ers!
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish
that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing
whereto I send it.” Isaiah 55:11
May God bless you and keep you,
