Volcanoes

A volcano is a landform usually a mountain which has an opening filled

with pools of hot, red, molten lava or magma. About 80 or more
volcanoes are in the ocean. There are around 1510 or more active
volcanoes. Volcanoes can change because of nature. Volcanoes were
dormant before we started global warming but then plates start to
move and shake and go on top of another plate which caused
earthquake and volcanoes then erupt. The biggest volcano on earth
was Mauna Loa on Hawaii’s big island. It is a massive shield volcano
constructed by countless lava flows. When measured from the base to
top, the pile of lavas measures more than 17,000 m (56,000 ft). The 10
largest volcanos on earth are Mount Pinatubo in Philippines, Nevada
del Ruiz in Colombia, Mount St. Helens in Washington and 7 other more.
Lava speed can reach 200 kilometers per hour. Flows of searing lava,
which can reach 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit (1,250 degrees Celsius) or
more, can be released.

Volcanoes erupt mostly because of earthquake because when the lands

and plates move the gas inside the volcano has no place to escape so it
forces its way up and cause the volcano to erupt. Lava a very hot, liquid
rock can cover or bury whole towns. Sometimes tsunami (Tsunami
means harbor wave) can cause volcanoes to erupt too it matters if the
tsunami has a lot of energy. Some very old lava has gold or silver.
People dig it out and sell them to make money.

lava flow and what is inside the

The volcano erupts lava and they come out and travel to a town, city or
valley and cover’s the whole place including oceans. Lava makes the
islands bigger by covering some parts of the ocean. The Pacific Ocean is
shrinking because islands are getting bigger. Lava is slow only; 10 mph
at fastest but hot ash can go 200 mph. After the volcano erupts towns
are buried under the Pahoehoe lava, Pillow lava and Aa lava like
Montserrat got buried half way they were very unlucky. Toxic air and
carbon dioxide start to travel everywhere and this effects the nature
and humans. Volcanoes create hot springs, and when hot springs dry up
you can see lots of minerals.

This change can impact people and nature very much because lava can
burn everything in its path including huge forest and this can cause
bush fire. Ash and toxic air can cause lung damage and other serious
problems. If lava goes off the island into the Ocean the island then gets
bigger like Hawaii and probably Hawaii is going to be huge because
Hawaii has a shield volcano and it always flow so some of the lava
might go in the ocean. Scientists say Hawaii will get huge when it is the
next generation. About 260,000 people have died in the past 300 years
because of volcano eruption. Every time a volcano erupts people
around the world loose family and friends, houses, possessions and
lives. They either have to move away to another part of the world, or
stay at safe zones where the volcano is less likely to hit them or burn
them. Lava flows and volcanic ash add minerals to soil and turns into
very rich soil. These minerals help plants to grow well. So that’s why
people or farmer live near the volcano to
have good soil for their plants or crops.

the red line that’s the ring of fire Hawaii
is just in the middle of the ring of fire.
