I am very excited and passionate about
teaching math. I received my Bachelor’s
Degree in Secondary Education Mathe-
matics December 13, 2008. Both my
student teaching experience at Brashear
High School and my long term substitute
position with the Allegheny Intermediate
Unit’s Alternative Edu-
cation Program have
taught me about teach-
ing to students with a
diverse range of needs
and academic levels. I
learned that it is impor-
tant when math can be
brought to life in real world situations and
be visually represented using diagrams,
pictures, and tables. Using these meth-
ods has helped me to reach more of the
students in the classroom. My student
teaching experience also helped me to
develop more effective classroom man-
agement skills. I feel very confident that
