CHAPTER I

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

According to www.Inventory System.com, the word 'inventory' can refer to

both the total amount of goods and the act of counting them. Many companies take an

inventory of their supplies on a regular basis in order to avoid running out of popular

items. Others take an inventory to insure the number of items ordered matches the actual

number of items counted physically.

According to the owner he started his business when he was a single man and

with a capital of 30,000 pesos. As of now he had a family his business is still growing

and all of his three sons are all graduated in college because of pursuing their children to

finish their studies.

The manual process of R.L. Ponio Grocery Store is every Friday, Mr. Bong

Ponio

P4 – Explain the manual process and problems encountered (1-5 sentences)

P5 – Introduce your proposed system.

1.1 Statement of the Problem

1.1.1 General Problem

How to design, develop and implement a Inventory

System for R.L. Ponio Grocery Store.

Specific Problems

Specifically, the study aims to answer the following problems:

1. How to provide an easy and fast way of generating

reports?
2. How to create module that will automatically
compute the IN per box or OUT per retail of each
product?
3. How to design a security feature to prevent
unauthorized access of the system and database?
4. How to design a database of all the products
including the product information?
5. Integrate the Goods Received System (GRS) and the
Project Ordering System (POS) to reduce the manual
effort needed to maintain information flows between
these two computer systems.
Objectives of the Study

1. System Development – Inventory System

General Objective

The main objective of this study is to build a

computerized Inventory System for R.L.Ponio Grocery
Store to efficiently and effectively monitor the product
inventory.

Specific Objectives

Specifically, this study aims to:

1. To provide an easy and fast way of generating reports by

using them our proposed system.
2. To create system that will automatically compute the IN per
box or OUT per retail of each product and to properly
monitored the coming and going out of the products.
3. To design a security feature to prevent unauthorized access of
the system and database by creating a program to access the
system by using Vb.Net.
4. To design a database we will use the appropriate system that
can show all of the products including the product
Information.

5. To integrate the Goods Received System (GRS) and the

Project Ordering System (POS) we will need to use the
proposed system so that it will reduce the manual effort
needed to maintain information flows between these two
computer systems.

Significance of the Study

Educational –

In this study this system we proponents it help us to

gain more knowledge, this can also helps the incoming students

that will create system or thesis.

Social –

To the employees it will reduce their stress, for the

customers they can easily buy the products they want.
Economic –

Technological –

The proponents are able to use programming language

like VB.Net in the development of the user interface and the

program, and My SQL for the database.

Scope and Delimitation

Scope –

the coverage of your study. Discuss the features of the system starting from the

user-login up to the special features that you want to add to your system.

Discuss the rules that you have set in the use of the system. (DETAILED)
Delimitation – the features that your system is not capable of doing. This maybe

is due to time constraint and limited resources.
