INTERNSHIPS PROGRAMS IN ARGENTINA
This program was designed to allow a professional practice who wish to have an
experience in Argentina.

The spanish course +`hotel internship are the best way for you of acquiring working
experience, while learning a new language. This experience will prepare you for the
future and you will also have the chance to immerse yourself into the local culture and
working environment.

Internships act as a learning process, you are placed in an Argentinean hotel, Call
center company or IT industry, where you will gain useful work experience. As well as
achieving international experience and acquiring new skills for your CV and academic
credits, you will be able to develop Spanish as a second language.

THE INTERNSHIP
An Internship Program is a period of time spent training with an organization or
company, in a position related to your field of study. It will give you useful work
experience in order for you to develop your future career.

In this case, both you and your host institution will benefit since you can exchange
knowledge and ideas that will help you to develop within your profession. You will also
gain self-confidence, improve your Spanish and be able to live in a different working
environment while learning new skills from participating in different projects.

The number of placements for our internships are limited. Candidates are carefully
selected based on their profiles and in the same way we recruit employers for you to
develop your professional objectives.

Based on many years of experience in the field of intercultural programs, our


Argentinean team is continually seeking new companies and destinations according to
the interests and needs of our participants.

Ciudad Universitaria can provide the necessary documentation to demonstrate that


you will participate or have participated in our Professional Internship Programs. It is
necessary you take 2 weeks Spanish course focused in hotel management in order to
perform an internship, and before getting started you will have to sit for a placement
test with the hotel manager to verify you have the required level of Spanish and
motivation to successfully complete your program.
You will be assessed by the Academic Coordinator, who will advise you on which
areas you need to improve, and will tell you if you need to take more Spanish classes.

You will meet the Internship Program Coordinator to receive all the information as
regards the activities that you will be doing for the host company or organization.

PROGRAM OPTIONS

A) HOSPITALITY INTERNSHIPS: The hotel placements offered by Ciudad


Universitaria are offered in differents places of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil.
The internships are non-paid due to the fact that the legal regulations require a
working visa for a paid internship, and the main objective of our program is
international academic training. Nevertheless, the hotels offer accommodation and 3
meals to the participants.

The professional practice programs in hotels / hospitality in Argentina have an option


range from 3 or 6 months, including specific training in Hotel Management with
certification.

Is required must be 18 years old and intermediate level of Spanish.


Hospitality/Cooking/Tourism student or graduated is needed. Participant must be
motivated, independent, flexible, open minded, and team worker

B) CALL CENTER INTERNSHIPS: The call center placements offered by Ciudad


Universitaria are paid. The students have to get the temporary residence in the
Inmigration Dept when arrive to Argentina.

It offers 6, 12 or 18 months of work experience in multinational call center located in


Buenos Aires, Argentina. Offered salary is $ 1500 to $ 2500 (pesos) per month, health
insurance and training courses.

Is required must be 18 years old and advanced level of English and Spanish.
Participant must be motivated, independent, flexible, open minded, and team worker
C) INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIPS: The IT placements offered by
Ciudad Universitaria are paid. The students have to get the temporary residence in the
Inmigration Dept when arrive to Argentina.

It offers 6, 12 or 18 months of work experience in multinational systems located in


Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Juniors: $2500 to $3500 Gross, depending on the experience


Semi seniors: $3000 to $4000 Gross, depending on the experience
Seniors: $3500 to $5000 depending on the experience

The company offer health insurance.to the participants

Students or graduates are required to run systems or applicants with experience in


systems development java

Is required must be 18 years old and intermediate level of Spanish. Participant must
be motivated, independent, flexible, open minded, and team worker

SPANISH COURSES
2 weeks spanish course. Classes: 3 times per week. 9am to 11PM or 2PM to 4PM.
Lessons are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday and

FREE SHORT COURSES


The students can also apply for free short courses offered by Buenos Aires
Government in differents areas at the same time they are doing the spanish classes

How much money would a participant spend per month in lodging and food?
- Hospitality Opt: Nothing.
- IT and Call center opt: $1000- $1200 (pesos) per month

How much money have it take with me?


- Hospitality Opt: at least U$S 100 per month.
- IT and Call center Opt: Only residence fee and personal expenses

Who confirms the period of stay?

With what visa do they travel?

That’s why they must ask for an online appointment 30 days before arriving in the
country. Once they arrive, they must assist to the appointment and present all the
documentation required.

CANCELLATION POLICY

- The price of the program is returned less U$S 350 is returned if the applicant
accepted the offer and cancelled or the visa/residence is denied the program
before travelling.

- If the applicant accepted the offer and cancels the program once he has arrived
in Argentina, he will not receive anything.

PROCESS TO DEMAND THE TEMPORARY RESIDENCE (CALL CENTER AND IT


OPTIONS)

With this process, you request the entrance and stay of foreign residents abroad.-

The National Migration Direction issues an entrance permit that must be presented by
applicants before the Argentine consulate with jurisdiction on its habitual place of
residence.
With such permit, the residence is processed before the consulate in order to enter the
country, in the authorized migratory category.

Once the residence is processed and the entrance of foreigners has been produced in
the country, they are automatically settled there, being able to process –in case it
corresponds – its National Document before the National Register of People.

All the documents must be presented in original and simple copy or copy cerfitied by
Notary Public (if the Notary Public is not from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, his
firm will have to be legalized by the Public Notaries Association of the province where it
corresponds).

All the documents issued in a foreign country will have to be presented endorsed by
the Argentine consulate of the issuing country or with the Apostille of the Hague.

All the documents issued in a language that is not Spanish, should be presented
translated by a National Public Translator, with the firm certified by the Association of
Translators (Av. Corrientes 1834 C1022AAC Buenos Aires -Tel/Fax: 4373-7173)

Migratory fee MERCOSUR $100 (pesos argentinos), NON-MERCOSUR $300 (pesos


argentinos)

- Timetable Headquarters: Avda. Antártida Argentina Nº 1355 from 08,00 to 13,30 hs.
(Numbers are delivered just until 11,00 hs.)

Requirements:

In all cases, on top of the specific documentation, a simple photocopy with the data of
the foreign passport will have to be presented.
