The job you would like to work in the future
I would like to be a heart surgeon. This is because I like to adapt to different
situations and meet different people. Also, I would like to continue to research new
treatments. A surgeon can make a difference to people's lives. It's a hard job-working
long hours in hospitals with the assistants and nurses around you all the time in the
operation rooms. I'm proud to be helping sick people to start a new life with healthy
hearts. Our surgeons, modern hospitals and intensive cares help to make Egyptians
healthier, and that will be good for our society and the coming generations.

Adventures
Mountaineering and mining are dangerous adventures. There are reasons why
people choose these dangerous actions. Climbing a great mountain is a lifelong
ambition. People climb dangerous mountains because they want to conquer something
during their life. A dangerous mountain is a challenge; when someone has climbed it,
they have reached their goal and they feel fantastic. In fact, a lot of climbers lost their
lives while climbing mountains. Similarly, adventurers risk going missing while
searching for treasures in' African deserts. Walking across a desert, some adventurers
may die of thirst. They may be captured or killed. On the contrary, others can take
enough diamonds to make them rich.

Global economy
People describe today's world as a global economy. Websites and email have made
it possible for companies of all sizes to sell their goods cheaply and quickly all over
the world. The global economy means that large international corporations can set up
in almost any location, employ local workers to produce goods there and trade with
other countries in the same region. The global economy also means that people can
buy goods from countries where wages are lower. This means that more people can
buy more goods, which in turn means that more people all over the world have jobs.
This is sometimes called a win-win situation, because everyone wins!

Healthy food
Many people believe that modified food is unnatural and fear that genetic
engineering may bring new diseases in the future. On the contrary, organic farming is
the best way to farm. The main reason is that some people don't like the idea of eating
fruit and vegetables that have been sprayed with pesticides. Pesticides can be
poisonous. In my opinion, we should improve the quality of the soil by adding natural,
organic fertilizers. But surely it's much quicker and easier for farmers to spray their
crops with chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Organic farms don't produce the same
quantities as modern farms, so they do not make quite as much money.

Modern house
Today, technology affects how buildings are designed. Modern houses can be very
high-tech. Some buildings can be controlled from a mobile phone. So if the owners
are out, they can lock or unlock their doors, turn their lights on and off and even cook
their meals without being there themselves. Modern skyscrapers sometimes have
fantastic views from all the windows. Modern houses have air-conditioning, so it's
cool inside. Modern houses have a balcony, where you can sit out to read or have a
cup of tea. On the other hand, some prefer the traditional houses. These houses don't
have air-conditioning but the walls are thick, so it's cool inside.

Tourism in Egypt
Most travellers to Egypt visit the famous sites in Cairo and Upper Egypt, but the
country has many other interesting historical places. Sinai has some of the most
beautiful landscapes in Egypt. The monastery of St Catherine is located in the centre
of Sinai. Today, tourism is a huge business. Egypt makes a lot of money out of
tourism. Alexandria and Hurghada attract millions of tourists every summer! The
tourist industry employs thousands of people such as travel agents, hotel staff and
building workers. New hotels and roads will have to be built and new parks and
resorts will need to be planned.

A global issue
We have been adding gases like carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. These gases
increase the earth's temperature. The carbon dioxide is increasing mainly because we
burn fuels such as oil and gas. If the carbon dioxide continues to increase, sea levels
will rise and some parts of the world will be flooded. Countries must stop destroying
the rainforests and 1 produce less carbon dioxide. And, as individuals, we must all
reduce the; carbon dioxide we produce: people must use cars only when they have to J
or by turning down air conditioning in the summer. We could ban cars; from city
centres and make people use public transport. We could increase our use of energy
from wind, waves and the sun.

The internet
The fastest-growing areas of computer use are online shopping and internet
banking. To attract customers, many online shops and companies now have
interesting, user-friendly websites which make buying things easier than traditional
ways of shopping. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can order almost anything
you can find in ordinary shops. As well as being easier for people with busy lives,
internet shopping also helps people to look for things they cannot find in their own
area and to find them at the cheapest prices. You can get some really good bargains on
the internet. People are changing to internet banking. Now, many people are doing all
their banking activities online.

The English Language

Languages especially English are very important for people to learn. A lot of
people are interested in learning English. Today, English is the mother tongue of
nearly a third of a billion people. A lot of people use English as a foreign or second
language. English is used in different fields of life. It is used in business, commerce,
science, and diplomacy. Doctors, scientists, pilots, travellers and students need to
learn it. English can be easily learned if the learner has the desire. English also needs
practice because practice makes perfect. That is why English is spoken all over the
world.

Science and Technology

Science and technology are the features of our world today. They have played an
important role in the different fields of life. Thanks to them, our life has become
easier. Scientists and technologists have devised new methods in the different fields of
life for a better life. The computer is one of the marvels of modern technology.
Satellites are one of the latest means of communications. On the other hand,
technology and science have some disadvantages. Some countries use them to produce
destructive weapons. Others use chemicals which destroy mankind. Radiation that
emits from screens is harmful. But without science and technology, our life would be
dull.

The Development of Education

Education is developing nowadays. The government is doing its best to raise the
standards of students. It builds developed schools to help students learn up-to-date
information. It provides schools with computers and the internet to help students keep
up with the latest technology. It provides schools with multi-media rooms. On the
other hand, teachers do their best to benefit from the government facilities at schools.
They train students to get the utmost benefit during their study. Teachers travel abroad
to keep up with the latest methods of teaching. Teachers encourage students to hold
competitions among classes. Finally, we live at the age of technology in education.

Reading
Reading is one of the pleasures of life and of the best ways of spending 1 our spare
time. 'A good book is a good friend'. This is true because reading makes us forget our
troubles and cares of everyday life. Besides, reading widens our knowledge. It also
makes us acquainted with many things we ignore about life and human nature.
Reading provides us with a background about various subjects that help us in our
practical life. A person who has a lot of knowledge attracts people's attention to him
when he speaks or discusses any subject. Thus he becomes a prominent personality in
his society and gets the respect of all people. We cannot do without books which you
refer to whenever you like.
How a youth serves his country
The progress of any nation depends on its youth. They work for the good of their
country. A youth can take part in the industrial and agricultural projects. They can also
help stamp out illiteracy. They sacrifice their lives for their country in time of wars. In
fact, the youth must avoid bad habits. They should avoid smoking and practise sports
to ' become fit. They should not waste their time sitting at cafes all the time. They
should read and log onto the internet to get useful information. The youth are
tomorrow's leaders, so the government is greatly interested in them.

Organ of Transplant
The great advances in the organ transplant have resulted in saving lives. People
who need an organ transplant often have to wait a long time 'or one. Doctors must
match donors to receivers to reduce the risk of transplant rejection. People who have
transplants must take drugs the rest If their lives to help keep their bodies from
rejecting the new organ. However, organ transplants raise many religious problems
because these organs are not theirs. They are given from God. Others see that trade in
organs is a deal between two adults, and that prohibiting it would be against human
rights. Despite these differences, organ transplants are still carried legally or illegally
in some countries of the world.

Over population
Over-population is a serious problem because it threatens our development plans.
Over-population devours all the productions of the country. It also causes pollution
because the more people are, the more pollution is. Ignorance is one cause of this
problem. People are not usually aware of the terrible results of this problem. We must
do something to overcome it. The government must carry out industrial and
agricultural projects to increase production. Family planning is one of the best means
solve our economic problems. Moving to the new cities away from the over-populated
areas is also a good solution. In fact, people need· enough awareness.

Hobbies
We should practise something different from our normal work to make our life
cheerful and pleasant. It is very important for us to have our own hobbies. Hobbies
give you a chance to spend our time in a useful and pleasant way. In fact, there are
various kinds of hobbies and we have own hobbies which suit our tastes. Playing
games, collecting stamps, playing music, chatting and painting are all interesting
hobbies and of great benefit to us. In fact, our hobbies help us to be sociable and at the
same time very popular. It often happens that a hobby paves the way for us to become
famous. So hobbies are not a waste of time but a way of earning our living.

Sports and games

Sports and games are very valuable. They should not be treated as
amusements. Sports and games make our bodies strong, prevent us from getting
fat, and keep us healthy. They also give us valuable practice in making eyes, brain
and muscles work together. For those who work with their brains most of the day,
the practice of such skills is useful. In addition, sports and games are very useful
for character-training. Boys and girls learn Physical Education (PE) in their
schools. In their lessons at school, boys and girls may learn about such virtues as
unselfishness, courage, discipline and love of one's country. They also refine
character. So we can say that sports and games are very important things that
people should do.

Football Team
The national football team gave Egypt much joy. Cooperation was the feature of
the Egyptian football team which was never matched by any opponent team. It was
about team work, how the sum is greater than the parts, how victory owed everything
to teamwork. Egyptians react to football victories because that is the magic of football
throughout the world. It's a game where you find freedom of speech and the right to
gather. These are the elements of a sound society. Now that the championship and
street ceremonies are over, many fans have no other choice but to return to normal
life. Officials should take advantage of the sense of loyalty and nationalism found in
young people and try to bring them into the service of their country with all their
enthusiasm.

Our monuments
It was an important step for Egyptian heritage to remain when antiquity trafficking
is banned. Laws have been passed to impose the hard penalties for trafficking. The
law prohibits all antiquity trading and cancels the 10 per cent unearthed goods
previously granted to the foreign excavation missions that discovered them. An
antiquity is every building or object that is a product of art, science or religion on the
Egyptian soil from prehistoric era up to 100 years before present time. In this way,
tourists will increase and so will our economy. This will help to make Egypt richer,
and that will be good for our children and our grandchildren.

Diseases
Nowadays we hear about strange species of diseases infecting people. Examples of
these diseases are avian flu and swine flu. They infect people especially youngsters
and holders of immunodeficiency. Some scientists warn us of the future side effects of
genetic engineering and of the diseases resulting from it. Also, when the whole globe
is getting in touch with one another, diseases may spread and cases of deaths will
increase. Diseases from space are probably the least serious now, but of course they
may become a problem if space travel increases. Crichton, for example, writes about
humans being infected by germs from space. It is science which makes problems and
must find solutions to them.
Recycling
Recycling has become the feature of the age. It is a way of reusing articles after
giving their original purposes. Almost every article can be recycled: paper, cans,
bottles, tyres, cars and the like. Recycling reduces 50% of the new production.
Recycling has a lot of benefits. It gives a lot of job opportunities. It helps reduce
rubbish to a great extent. As a result, our environment will be healthy. Recycling
teaches us how to protect our environment. Both developed and developing countries
are interested in recycling. In short, recycling helps a lot in making us feel the value of
objects.

The best things in life are free

We have been blessed with a lot of free things like air, water and education.
Without air, we would die. Air surrounds us. It never stops. It provides us with oxygen
necessary to continue living. Water is as important as air. Without water we cannot
live. The Nile provides us with the water necessary for drinking and irrigation. The
Nile water has been running and generations have been living. Agriculture cannot
grow without water. Besides these natural resources, education is given free. The
government is interested in given everyone the right share in education. In this way,
education is free just like air and water.

The Road to success is not straight

The road to success is not straight. You will have obstacles on the way. But, if you
have determination, you will go to a place called success. Nothing succeeds like
success. This is a true saying because we all work for success whose joy can be felt by
successful people and their families and close friends. To succeed in life, you must do
your best in achieving you goal. Once you have reached your goal, you must work
harder to keep it. But does success have enemies? Yes, the enemies of success are
those who know to how succeed but do not have the enthusiasm and hard work to
achieve it. Such people must be avoided.

Good friends are hard to find harder to leave impossible to

forget
Friendship is to be bought only by friendship. A man may have authority over
others, but he can never have their hearts but by giving his own. A good friend is
someone we can depend on. A friend is someone with whom we can relax and have
fun and share our thoughts-deep secrets, noble goals, or our hopes, joys, and fears. A
good friend allows you a safe space to share your deepest thoughts and needs--without
worry of being made to feel silly for feeling the way you do. Friends cheer each other
on, laugh and cry together, and just sympathize and listen to each other. That's why
friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

Some people are lonely because they build walls instead of

bridges
People who put up "walls" and do not let anyone really get close to them or
understand them make themselves lonely. But if they put up "bridges" which means
let someone get to know them and understand them, then they will have a chance of
having a new friend. By building a wall you are closing yourself in. By building a
bridge you are extending your relationships. Since nations are globally interested in
common issues such as pollution and overpopulation, they must get together and
break walls that separate them. They must discuss global issues openly without any
barriers among them.

Life is not a race it is a journey

Life can be enjoyable or miserable. It is up to you. Do not belittle your value by
comparing yourself with others. We are so different that each of us is special. Do not
set your goals by what other people consider important. You must know only what is
best for you and do not give up when you still have something to give. Do not be
afraid to run into risks. It is by taking chances that you learn how to adapt. Knowledge
is a treasure you can always have easily. The quickest way to receive love is to give
love. You should not dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without
hope. Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you are, but also
where you are going to.

If you do good things in your life, you will be remembered for

these things
People will be remembered for the good things they do in their lives. Professor
Magdi Yacoub was part of the team which did the first British heart transplant
operation. A civil engineer is proud to be helping to build a modern country. Our
roads, bridges and dams will help to make Egypt richer. Louis Pasteur showed that
people could catch diseases from other people who were carrying germs. He
discovered ways of preventing diseases from passing from person to person. Thanks
to his discoveries, more people live healthy lives and fewer people die from common
diseases. Omar Samra's climb to the summit of Everest was the most important
sporting event of 2007.
