This was one of my interview projects in uni.

The subject was that music

therapy even if not widespread can help heal. I would like everyone to
read and be aware of this wonderful healing method. Thanks to Dr.
Anonymous for all his sharing.

Dr. Anonymous has been working on the subject “music therapy” since
2005. Throughout time and experience, he decided to put music therapy
into his healing methods.

Looking back in history, when did this healing method ascend?

Let me tell you from the begining. Since ancient times we see that every
horde used music to make people feel good. It is most seen in rituals.
Shaman rituals. These Shaman rituals are still seen amongst indians
and some of the hordes that live in Middle Asia. In the Shaman, if
someone is thought to be ill, they try to reach to the bad spirits using the
frequency of music. This is one of the early examples.

When did this method become a scientific branch?

It was the 9th century until this became more fomal and this happened
with the works of Turkish physicians. In 1997 music therapy was
accepted as a classic scientific method by American Music Therapy
Association.

Where do the professionals implement this therapy?

There are at least one or two music therapists nowadays in hospitals

around Europe and America.

Can you diagnose ilnesses with music therapy?

Music Therapy is not a diagnosis method. It can only be used in

observing the patients reactions, behaviours, aggression, and social
performance. It is used besides the medical treatments.

What is the content of music therapy?

All fields of music is used in music therapy. The basic aim of music
therapy is to meet that persons social, spiritual, physical needs. It uses
active and passive music to do this. Active music therapy consists of
dancing, singing, playing an instrument. Passive music therapy only
consists of listening to music. This is called “receptive music therapy”.
You are only deriving benefit from the hearing sense. Now I will tell you
what is done. Lets take autistic children for example. They don’t have the
conception of “others”. They have huge communication problems. They
don’t speak the same language as the ordinary, they have their own
language. For this kind of patient rhythm therapy is used. By using this
method we try to make them overcome their communication problems.
The therapist makes a sound with an instrument and the autistic child
tries to make the same sound by tapping on wood or with a bell. The
child starts communicating and socializing as sometimes the therapy is
done in groups. We experimented this and the improvement seen was
huge. At the end of the therapy my students gave a concert with
instruments I was really proud.
