Assumptions:Students know all the grammar rules of pre-intermediate and they
know”have to,can etc”.
Anticipated Problems:Time management can be a problem because
the teacher need to focus on a lot of points.It can be chaos between ss while playing
games.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson,
1) the students will have covered “expressing obligation the present/future.”

2) the students will have practiced “must for obligation”


3) the students will have used their skills such as reading,listening,speaking
WARM-UP
Time: 3 min.
Materials: Pictures
Interaction:Ss/Ss-T/Ss
What students do:To order the pictures on the board.
Grouping:two groups
Aims:
-To motivate students to get to the topic
-To foster their curiosity
-To set the stage for reading the stage
- to make ss involve in the topic by drawing attention

STEPS
1) There are some pictures on the board.
2) The teacher divides into two groups.
3) The teacher asks six students to come to the board.
4) Ss put the pictures in the right order.
5) The first group finishing them is the winner.
6) Then the teacher sets the stage for reading the text.

STEPS
1) The teacher writes the sentence elicited from the text on the board.
2) The teacher asks ss to look at the sentence on the board.
3) The teacher asks some concept questions “Has the writer struggled many
years with different diets?Is he an authority?,Does he oblige us to obey these
rules?,Is it necessity and obligation? ,Is the obligation in the present or in the
past?etc.” on the worksheets.

Aims:
- To restrict the language needed and require the use of the target items

STEPS
1) The teacher gives the worksheets and the words in the envelopes
2) The students work with their partners
3) The students complete the sentences on the worksheets with the words in the
envelopes
4) The teacher and ss check them and ss write the sentences on the board.

1) Students stand in a circle in groups of six
2) The teacher clips a card to the back of some students
3) It is written the name of a person on each
card”student,patient,pedestrian,driver,child,customer”
4) Six students stand in the middle of each circle
5) They ask their groups some questions to figure out whom she is
6) The other students answer them
7) After the game,the teacher and ss talk about the game
