Problem may arise in daily life and in technical world. As an engineer, it is a necessity to
know how to solve the problem effectively and systematically. Therefore, numerous problem
solving techniques have been established and been used. Depending on the complication of
the problem, some may be solved individually and others may require afford from a team.
Assuming that you are facing a comp licated problem, in order to solve this problem, different
expertises are required. Hence, a team is formed. As a future engineer, you are required to
do the following:

(1) Create or identify a problem. The problem may be technical or non -technical related.
(2) Based on the nature of the problem, form a team of 4 to 5 members aiming to solve
this problem. You need to justify the contribution of each member during the process
of solving the problem. The team must consist of at least two different races and at
least one member must be in different gender.
(3) Your team are requires to propose an effective technique that can be used to solve
the problem systematically.
(4) Justifications are needed for your team to propose that problem solving technique
(Advantages over other techniques).
(5) Provide a detail step -by-step procedure in solving the problem. You may present the
procedure in graphic and/or point form.
(6) A technical report must be presented according to the situation listed above.
(7) The requirements of the technical report are as follow:

à Provide a written report of NOT more than 5 printed pages (single -side A4
paper).
à The report must content an abstract, introduction, answers to the
questions/issues of the assignment, conclusions, acknowledgement, and list
of references. Pre sentation of the report must follow the template provided.
à Reference styling must follow ³IEEE Transaction of Electron Devices´.
à A separate section of workload on individual contribution must be provided in
terms of percentage. This section is not inclu ded in the 5 printed pages.
à The report will be assessed according to the Rubric matrix attached. Place
the assessment sheet as the 1 st page of your report, with the names of the
team members clearly written.
à Each member is required to perform a peer assess ment and the assessment
must be submitted to me separately. =

à Submission deadline of the report is given in the Teaching Schedule. Late
submission will not be entertained.
à Each student must also fill up the ³Assignment C over Sheet´ and bind
together with the written report.
(8) Your team are required to do a 10 -minute oral presentation (no Q&A session). The
slots for the presentation are given in the Teaching Schedule. Assessment criteria
are given in the Rubric matrix.
