The National Sanitation Week (NSW) of 1998 was

primary objective to focus and generate national
awareness and commitments to address the problems of
national sanitation practices. The focus was address the
issue of sanitation from two perspectives:
Firstly, it was through addressing leaders, administrators

programmatic interventions for promoting proper
sanitation practices, and
Secondly, it was through motivating the general public to
adopt desired sanitation practices through programmatic
interventions in alliance with implementing agencies and
support organizations.
