To achieve 100% passes in PKSR and UPSR’s result by 2008.

In order to achieve the vision, all the English teachers are

committed to :

• Help the school to produce English literate pupils.

• Enhance the quality of English teaching and
learning process in class.
• Create awareness among the pupils towards the
importance of English learning.
• Create a conducive English learning environment.
As the international language, it is important for the pupils to learn
and master English. To ensure the next generations are not left
behind, it is necessary to stress on the importance of learning and
mastering English at the first stage of learning, especially for
primary pupils.

To ensure good performance of SKDN’s pupils, a clear guideline

has to be set up in order to monitor the performance and
development of pupils especially in PKSR and UPSR.

• Pupils from year 1- 6 could master the language and

communicate well in English.
• To increase the quality and quantity of passes in PKSR
and UPSR.
• To educate pupils and make them realize that English is
an interesting subject and not a burden to them.
The objectives of English Language Panel are:

• To help the school produce English literate pupils.

• To decrease the number of failures in English.
• To enhance the quality and effectiveness of
teaching in class by using several creative methods
in order to get pupils to understand English better.
• To increase the percentage of English in PKSR and
UPSR.
• The school has provided a lot of teaching materials to be
used by the teachers in order to make teaching and
learning process more effective and enjoyable.
• The school is always ready to give full support towards
every activity held/organized by the English Panel.
• Parents’ awareness towards the importance of English
learning for their children.
• Full moral and material support from the PTA for any
English activity.
• All the English teachers are very committed and
responsible towards their profession and always have the
intention and desire to put in a lot of effort in enhancing
their teaching skills.
• Pupils are very weak in mastering grammar and
vocabulary.
• There are a few pupils who cannot even read and write in
English without guidance from the teachers.
• Pupils are afraid to make mistake when they are
requested by their teachers to converse/communicate in
English.
• Pupils are reluctant to use English while communicating
with their friends and teachers.
• Pupils are always dependent on their teachers to give
them exercise and enrichment activities.
• Pupils lack the skills in understanding questions and
answering techniques.
• Lack of self-motivation and determination among pupils
themselves.
• There are a lot of activities organized by the English
Panel involving pupils’ participation. E.g. English Day,
English Week, etc.
• Teachers can use the computer lab for interactive
teaching.
• Vocabulary book programme held by PPSMI Panel
could help pupils increase their vocabulary not only in
Science and Mathematics but also in English as well.
• “Ladybird” reading programme.
• Motivation workshop for UPSR candidates.
• Tuition classes.
• Reading corner in every class could help in enhancing
the interest among pupils towards English by providing
English materials to be read in class.
• Lack of attention from parents in monitoring their
children’s homework and performance in school.
• Lack of awareness from parents to encourage their
children to read English reading materials at home.
