PRE-LISTENING

What the students do : The students are asked to look at the words, to guess the topic and
to answer the questions
Grouping : Whole class
Aims:
STEPS
1) The teacher asks students to have a look at the words written on the board
2) The teacher asks students to guess what the topic is about
3) Students give some answers by brainstorming through the words
4) After collecting their predictions, the teacher says what the topic is
5) The teacher asks some questions about the topic and gives a reason to students for
listening
WHILE LISTENING
Aims:
-To practice listening for the gist and specific information
• First Listening
Aims:
- To get the students to understand the dialogue in general
- To get the students to have the gist of the dialogue
STEPS
1) The teacher gives handouts to the students
2) The teacher asks students to put a tick for the issues they hear
3) After the listening, the teacher checks students’ answers
• Second Listening
Aims:
- To get the students to have more specific information about the dialogue
- To get them to understand the dialogue in detail
STEPS
1) The teacher asks students to have a look at the part B
2) After that, they are asked to listen to the dialogue again and complete the sentences
3) The teacher checks students’ answers and writes them on the board
POST LISTENING
Time: 5 min.
Materials: pictures

What the students do: The students choose a movie and talk about it by taking the issues
mentioned in the introduction part into consideration
Grouping: groups of four students
Aims:
- To improve their speaking skills with the help of the discussion
- To practice what they have learnt
STEPS
1) The teacher asks students to get into groups of four
2) The teacher asks the students to choose a movie and to talk about it
3) The teacher asks them to use the issues mentioned in the introduction part
4) One group comes to the board and discuss on the board
