D. Generalization

Menstruation is part of the menstrual cycle, which prepares your body for
pregnancy each month. A cycle is counted from the first day of one period to the
first day of the next period. The average menstrual cycle is 28 days long.
Menstruation is the monthly uterine bleeding or also called as period. The average
blood loss is 30-80ml and iron loss is 0.5-1mg. It occurs in the puberty stage. It
has four phases which are: menstrual, proliferative, secretory, and ischemic. in
menstrual phase, the prostaglandin increases while estrogen and progesterone
decreases. In proliferative phase, the wall of the endometrium lining begins to
thicken. In secretory phase, there’s presence of corpus luteum that secretes
progesterone that stimulates the further build-up of the cells in the endometrium
of the uterus. In ischemic phase, shrinkage and degeneration of the endometrium
happens. Premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, is a group of symptoms that start one
to two weeks before your period. Its symptoms include breast swelling and food
cravings. There are some menstrual irregularities which are amenorrhea (absence
of menses) and dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps). Some therapeutic management
for women experiencing menstruation are having a good lifestyle and proper
hygiene.

IV. VALUE STATEMENT

“In man, the shedding of blood is always associated with injury, disease, or death. Only the
female half of humanity was seen to have the magical ability to bleed profusely and still rise
phoenix-like each month from the gore.”

This statement shows us that women are really unique, special and strong. Women are
born to struggle for this and can afford to deal with it. Every month starting in our puberty
stage women are already at risk for pregnancy or even death. Women have the only ability to
be in that situation and the future lies in them. It’s a miracle that women can still live even
though it’s happening every month and this shows that women have purpose and still living
even when bleeding. Lastly, maybe God created it to symbolize the suffering of every
woman and should be respected.

V. EVALUATION

I will show my students a powerpoint presentation which contains the following
