1.0 INTRODUCTION

Heads of panels
Heads of panels are responsible in keeping an eye on the development of each
subject taught in school. Besides that, they are also responsible for the delegation of
the academic work to the teachers of each specific subject. The heads of panels will
also supervise the teaching and learning process carried out by the teacher of each
respective subject.
Sports Secretary
Sports secretary is not the same as PK ko-kurikulum. Sports secretary’s duty is only
to focus on sports events. They are in charge of the overall success of sports
activities within the schools. The main responsibility of sports secretary is to plan and
develop programs that would increase the performance of sports or games in the
school.
Classroom Teacher
Classroom teachers are those who are assigned to individual classroom. Basically
there are responsible in terms of the students’ behaviors, development and
management of the class. Apart from that, as we know classroom teachers also hold
the responsibility to collect school fees, attendance and other matters related.
Teachers
Teachers are responsible in educating students in their rightful areas. They are also
responsible in teaching students to fully understand and achieve good grades.
Teachers should portray good moral and behaviour so that teachers are able to be a
role model to the students. Teachers are professionals responsible to help students
in upgrading students’ achievement.
Others
In this school, there are also other positions held by other teachers such as
counselor, disciplinary teachers, media teacher, Islamic development coordinator,
resource centre coordinator, SPBT coordinator and also welfare coordinator. The
positions held by these teachers are somehow as important as other positions held
by other teachers.
PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) or better known as PIBG. is an association with
collaboration from students’ parents and teachers in school. The reason why PTA
exists is to assist school in terms of financial and moral support to the school
especially the students. Parents and teachers play an important role in students’
achievement and growing up. Besides that, school’s financial state also depends on
the PTA whereby the additional funding comes from the generosity of the students’
parents. PTA do organize some activities and functions such as prom arties for the
senior students, camping trips as well as social gathering to discuss matters related
to school and students.
It is an honor for me to be given a chance to be apart of the school even
though for 13 weeks to contribute my temporarily service as a trainee teacher.
2.0 MANAGEMENT
Under a great management team of SMK SEKSYEN 24(2), the school has
moving forward and leaded into a great success. Like any others schools, the head
of the school is the principle. The principle of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan
Seksyen 24 is Puan Hajah Mariam bt Husin . She is well known for her friendliness
and loving character, she was good in making relationship not only the teachers but
also the other staffs. This positive attitude is applied into the schools community
where the teachers and staff are very kind and helpful. A good organization cannot
work alone; therefore there are other supporting units that play an important role in
managing the school. The management of the SMK Section 24 (2) also consists of
the Penolong Kanan, PK HEM, PK Kokurikulum, Guru-Guru Ketua Bidang and the
rest of the school teachers that help the school in becoming a successful learning
institution. Not forgetting the supporting staff such as security guards, lab assistants
and clerical staff that also play a big role in the success of the schools management.
THE ROLES OF TEACHERS
Below are the lists of positions including the duty of each position involved in the
school administration.
2.2.1 Principle
The head of the school is known as principle. Principle will be in charge of all
main and important decisions regarding the school including matters on
curriculum and co-curriculum development, students’ affairs, staff development
and also other important matters related to the school.
2.2.8 Teachers
Teachers are responsible in educating students in their rightful areas.
They are also responsible in teaching students to fully understand and
achieve good grades. Teachers should portray good moral and behaviour so
that teachers are able to be a role model to the students. Teachers are
professionals responsible to help students in upgrading students’
achievement.
2.2.9 Others
In this school, there are also other positions held by other teachers

2. Science Labs
There are only 2 science labs in this school which are divided into
chemistry labs, physics labs and biology laboratories. The laboratories are not
really equipped since it was new.
3. Computer Room
The computer room in SMK Seksyen 24 (2) is still brand new and well
equipped with fully usable computers for students and teachers. Teachers
can also use the computer room to carry out their lesson that uses projectors,
LCD and any other multimedia facilities.
4. Workshops
There are 6 workshops that can be found in the school which are
electronic, pipe, engineering technology and agriculture. The workshops in
this school are situated in the building. These workshops are mainly for
students who take Living Skills and Vocational Streams. Apart from that, there
are also a sewing room, cooking room and self-management room to facilitate
students’s learning.
5. Sports Facilities
Sports facilities in this school are kept in a sport facilities room. The
sports equipment available are balls, sporting gears, nets, racquets and keys
to open up courts. There are also a number sports facilities that can be found
around the school area such as football field, and a hall where students can
spend their time playing ping-pong, badminton and others. The school also

Other facilities that can be found in this school is staffroom for
teachers, surau, counselling room, SAL, Bilik Bantuan Mengajar and APD
room where all the electrical media are stored. For the teachers’ convenience,
the school provides a nursery especially for the children of the teachers and
staffs. There are 2 kinds of KOOP; bookshop and small shop selling
refreshment.
4.0 CURRICULUM

The school has a committee that is in charge of the time table for the
teachers and their duty. Their jobs are to legislate, compose and arrange all the
time tables and subject for the teachers. Puan Munaliza is responsible to arrange
the timetable. The time table for this school starts at 7.30a.m until 2.30p.m
beginning from Monday to wednesday. However on Thursday the class will finish at
1.50 p.m. because the teachers meeting will be held at 2.00.m to 3.00 p.m every
Thursday. On Friday it is a bit different like other days because the male students
will have to go for Friday prayer, so the school finishes at 12.30 p.m.
However for the relief time table, the teacher responsible is Puan Norhaliza
Bt Harun.
Syllabus
Every subject has their own syllabus which is planned and organized by the
head of each sectors. The syllabus that is used follows the yearly plan constructed
by the Ministry of Education. All the heads of sectors are responsible to guide the
heads of panels on their syllabus. Then the head panel will then guide the
teachers to ensure that the teaching and learning process is conducted according
to plan.
4.2 CO-CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION
In this school there are 8 types of sports and games; soccer, badminton,
sepak takraw, Hockey, netball, handball, ping-pong, petaque and athletics. Their

Curriculum. They have to join a uniform body, club and societies. There are 14 clubs,
The 12 clubs are Kelab Rakan PSS, Entrepreneur Club, SLAD and

Apart from that, there are 11 societies consisting of Bahasa Melayu, English,
History, Mathematics and Science, Islamic Education, Creative Art, Tamil and

Sekolah, Pergerakan Puteri Islam, Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah, Kadet Polis, Kadet
as their advisor. Every students needs to pay RM 2 for the annual fee.
4.3 TEACHING OBSERVATION
My SOP week started on 21st of Jun till 27th of Jun 2010. During the
practicum weeks. I only went to observe 4 Intan on the 24th of Jun which was
on Thursday. I was introduced by my mentor also PJK teacher for that class,
Pn Low Ai Song to the students. Then I sat at the back of the class to watch
her teaching. On that day, he did nothing much but only recap the previous
much trouble with the class because the students like her and also she is took
the students attention and also stated some names that may cause a little
mischief in the class. Apart from that, he also gave me a few tips on how to
control and manage a classroom and how to handle certain problems that
may occur. I was also informed on the types of punishment that could be
observation went very well. At least I know what to expect from the students
when I start to take over the class and be well prepared to face any
consequences at my back.
