INTRODUCTION 1.Hardware & Software requirements

Fingerprint Software development kit is necessary tool for software developers to

develop fingerprint recognition based applications. Fingerprint SDK allow your

Installation steps for SDK This screen displays that now

software is ready to install

Put CD into CD ROM. Then double click on

the “My Computer” icon on the desktop.

Click on the next button

to install software

Double click on the CD ROM drive to browse

Inside CD double click on the setup.exe If user wants to change the path
for installation then click on the
change button else click on the
next button to continue

select appropriate path here and
click on the ok button to continue
with the installation.

1.2 Using SDK samples
After successful installation of the SDK perform following steps to see samples
1) Click on Start button, go to the programs. Go to BioEN FPModule.
2) Click on the VB samples option from the list bar.
3) Select DRV textX and matcherX for using SDK.
4) Select DRV text X for testing the software.
DRV textX is used for capturing and configuring the fingerprint image.
Perform the following functions when user clicks on DRVtestX SDK
Attach scanner to USB port of the
PC and use different options by
clicking on the buttons

Click on the configure button.
Place finger and according to the
image change its brightness and
color click on the blue line and
make necessary settings after that
MatcherX: It is used to verify the fingerprint data.
In this first screen place finger
over scanner & click on the 1st
fingerprint box.

This screen shows that software is now
copying necessary files on the specified
path
Click on the Finish button to
complete the installation
Click on the capture button to capture the
image of the fingerprint
Click on the live capture button to take the
image of the finger in live position.
Captures fingerprint images continuously
for given amount of time, checks the
quality of the image and ignores the
image if there is no fingerprint or if the
image quality is unacceptable or timeout
occurs.
Place same finger over scanner and
click on the box below 2nd fingerprint
heading to authenticate the finger. If it
get matched with the first finger then it
shows green border with message that
fingerprint data get registered
Place the finger over scanner and
click on the box under Matching
heading. If this finger matches with
the other two then it shows message
“identical” message

 If the finger does not get matched
with the finger registered then it
shows red border indicating that
the finger does not get matched
Right click on the tool
box and click on the
