BUDDHISM

1. Anti-Christ

For Christians who critique that it proves nothing. According to Buddhism doctrine, God
is not eternal; it is illogical to believe in God. Also according to Buddhism, Christ is
subject to aging like everyone else.

2. Inhumane Dismissal of Suffering

Suffering is an individual problem. Buddhism ignores completely any systemic creation


of suffering.

3. Too idealistic

Too attain enlightenment, many stages should be fulfilled.

4. Values life as fleeting thing

Buddhism teaches submission and resignation. Buddhists regard life as short-lived thing
full of suffering. And Buddhists regard life as a fleeting thing full of suffering. And that
Buddhist should surrender their mind.

5. Sinners

Buddhist has no concept of sin. Breaking the law means unskillful. And based from
Christian perception, violation of God’s law and moral law means sin. Buddhists have no
concept of Christian’s God because they have their own.

ISLAM/MUSLIM

1. Evil religion

According to Protestant pastors, Islam’s faith is only based on peace, love, and
compassion. It is basically different from Christianity and it only promotes violence. This
assumption by Protestant pastors only shows concern about religion and its impact.

2. Disproportionately prone to violence


Some claim that what Islam preaches was all hate. The war between Afghanistan and Iraq
increases the negative perceptions about Muslims.

3. Fitna

Fitna means disbelievers or infidels who disagree about Islam faith. The act of fitna
means oppressing Muslim and Islam.

4. Terrorist

Media’s coverage about terrorism especially when terrorists are Muslims, it creates
negative impact to its audiences. When Christian or Catholic is involve in terrorism,
media will never say, “Christian terrorist” or “Catholic terrorist.”

5. Magnanakaw

There are many reports about Muslim with regard to criminal acts such as robbery. With
this, people generalize what Muslims are.

HINDU

1. Infanticide

It is an actual murder of female baby basically because of her gender. Most of countries may
consider this as harsh practice, considering their gender as the basis of murder; it would be
against feminist perception and human right maybe, for those who value life above all.

2. Less concerned about morality

According to Hindu, if one suffers, s/he deserves it. And morality is not the problem of
the people but metaphysical

3. Less value on women’s right

As symbol of chastity, women throw themselves into their late husband’s funeral pyre.
