SCOPE and DELIMITATION

The general intent of this study is to explain the community immersion programs that the Level
IV B.S.Nursing Students Batch 2011 of Manila Doctors College has put together in order to
enhance the advancement of the Barangay Munting Ilog Community in Silang Cavite with the
focus on the people’s health and wellness promotion and illness prevention.

This study will mainly identify and assess different factors that affect the present health
condition of the people in the community and the present and impending health problems in
Brangay Munting Ilog. Also, this study yearn to identify on how can the community organizers
develop and assist the people in the community to be self reliant and governance in identifying,
dealing and intervening with the different health issues that the community is currently facing
and those health related concerns that may come in the future.

This study will be conducted with limited amount of financial resources and time framework.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Individual experiences - Individual experiences are the act of knowledge, one or more, by
which single facts or general truths are ascertained ; the effect upon the judgment or feelings
produced by any event, whether witnessed or participated in; personal and direct impressions as
contrasted with description or fancies; personal acquaintance; actual enjoyment or suffering

Individual characteristics –Individual characteristics are the distinguishing traits, qualities or

property of someone.

Behavior-specific cognitions and affect - these are the perceived barriers to action, perceived
benefits of action, perceived self efficacy, activity related affects

Behavioral outcomes - the result or consequence of a performance or action in terms of success

and failure.

Health education - can be defined as the principle by which individuals and groups of people
learn to behave in a manner conducive to the promotion, maintenance, or restoration of health

Waste Management- is the collection, transport, processing, recycling or disposal, and

monitoring of waste materials. The term usually relates to materials produced by human activity,
and is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or aesthetics

Community Projects - is a term applied to any community-based project. This covers a wide
variety of different areas within a community or a group of networking entities. Projects can
cover almost anything, including the most obvious section of concern to any community, the
welfare element.

Community resources - An available supply for the community that can be drawn on when
needed

Knowledge - That familiarity which is gained by actual experience; Scope of information;

cognizance

Family - is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence.
