Rules For District Championships:

MARCH 20, 2011
• Matches will be in a round-robin format.
• Matches will consist of a set using no-ad scoring. A 9-point tiebreaker will be played if
necessary.
• Cumulative game scoring will determine the overall divisional champion. If there should be
a tie, head-to-head competition will decide the winner.
• If the total number of games results in a tie, the mixed doubles team will play a 9-point tie-
breaker to decide that round winner. (This tie-breaker will not be counted towards the
total game score).
• Default Rules – USTA lateness default rules will be used. The default time begins when
team match is announced by the tournament desk. For example: If a player is only slated to
play the mixed doubles and is not present when mixed doubles is ready to begin the team
forfeits mixed doubles. All players must be present within 15 minutes of the announcement
from the tournament desk that the match is to be played.
• If a team defaults an entire team match for any reason during the round robin, then all
matches of that team played or to be played shall be null and void. If all teams in contention
for the Championship have already played the defaulting team in good faith, the matches
stand as played. The section may impose sanctions or penalties on said team.
• The coaches for each team shall exchange their team match cards simultaneously prior to the
beginning of the team match.
• NO substitutions allowed
• On-court coaching is allowed between changeovers only and only by the designated coach.
In no event is coaching permitted during a set or match tiebreak.
• Match play is continuous.
• Scorecards must be signed and submitted at the end of each round. New scorecards will be
issued.
