 Project Manager
M y name is Jean Kwon, and I'm currently
attending an international high school in
Seoul, Korea. With a strong interest in
design, marketing, and technology, the career I want
to pursue is an advertisement graphic designer. The
objective for my future job is
to highlight and advertise various ideas through
means of graphic design and use creativity to
appeal to the consumer. Below, I will roughly explain
the steps I have brainstormed in order to reach my
goal.
College
I'm most likely going to attend a college in the
states. Although I did not pinpoint one university yet,
I want to go to one that will provide a good basis in
marketing. I prefer a bigger university, because
although competition will be tense, more students
will be able to work together to produce creative
projects. I'd like to attend a double major, in which
there's an intermediate major between two majors.
In my case, the two would be marketing and
design/technology.
First Jobs
The first interning job I'd like to have is a simple
position at an advertising store or small company.
I'm not necessarily implying that I need to work in
my expertise or field; I just want to experience a
professional environment where I can see other
people carry out my future job. I could be a
secretary, or a personal assistant. I imagine
designing minor things, such as the logos of other
companies, small advertisement signs, and web
ads.
Development in Jobs & Positions
I plan to be actively involved with web design and
web graphics, and communication with the outside
world through various forms of technology. I'd like to
be a manager of a small team of people and play a
leading role in planning out specific projects. I would
form groups to work foreign jobs and earn vital
experiences in places in Asia, where marketing is
dynamic. I could expand my business to places such
as Japan, Korea, China, Hongkong, and Singapore.
Capstone of Career
Once I go through numerous positions, I'd like to
achieve the position of a CEO of an advertisement
company, or a leading role in a new business that I'd
start. A CEO would be a very difficult role to attain,
because of the tight competition and huge
responsibilities. However, it is a dream set high.
Although retirement seems very far away, it is
something highly considerable. For a family, I'd
probably retire at an early age, around my late
forties or fifties.
