 Who are the Fundamentalists?
• Those who consider Islam as a way of life and not
just as a tradition. Fundamentalists reject
democratic values and contemporary Western
culture.
• They want an authoritarian, puritanical state that
will implement the law of God-Islamic law and
morality. They are willing to use innovation and
modern technology to achieve that goal. They are
not ready to accept any other law except from
God.
 What to do with them?
• Confront and oppose the fundamentalists:
• — Challenge their interpretation of Islam and
expose inaccuracies.
• Present them as losers and extremists through
the media and especially spread misinformation
about them amongst the youth.
• Find them wherever we can and finish them
because they are a challenge to our(western)
civilization and culture.
 Who are the Traditionalists?
• These are the Muslims who have no broader
concept of Islam. They just consider Islam as
traditional forms of worship like offering
Prayers, observing fasts etc.
• They are busy in learning Islamic school of
thoughts and fiqh and teaching others.
• They don’t challenge our(western) civilization.
They are just busy in their own worships.
 What to do with them?
• Support the traditionalists against the fundamentalists:
• — Publicize traditionalist criticism of fundamentalist violence and
extremism;
• encourage disagreements between traditionalists and
fundamentalists.
• — Discourage alliances between traditionalists and
fundamentalists.
• They have the measures to address to people(on Friday prayer) so
keep them busy in their differences and keep them fighting over
little matters and let them not come to fundamentals of Islam.
• Show them as Losers in the media and make fun of them through
every means and spread it especially among the youth.
 Who are the Modernists?
• Modernists want the Islamic world to
become part of global modernity.
• They want to modernize and reform Islam to
bring it into line with the age.
• They are the ones closest to our(western)
culture and they are coming to our culture
and adopting our moral values.
 What to do with them?
• Support the modernists:
• — Publish and distribute their works at subsidized cost.
• — Encourage them to write for mass audiences and for
youth.
• — Introduce their views into the curriculum of Islamic
education.
• — Give them a public platform.
• — Make their opinions and judgments on fundamental
questions of religious Position secularism and modernism
as a “counterculture” option for disaffected Islamic youth.
• Show them on media channels and provide people a
picture that only what they say is the truth and the only
true interpretation of Islam is done by the modernists.
 Who are the Secular?
• Secularists want the Islamic world to accept a
division of church and state in the manner of
Western industrial democracies, with religion
relegated to the private sphere.
• They accept that religion has got nothing to
do with way of life. It is just an ideology and
name of forms of worship.
• God is not to be involved in personal lives of
human beings.
 What to do with them?
• Selectively support secularists:
• — Encourage recognition of fundamentalism as a
shared enemy, discourage secularist alliance with
anti-U.S. forces on such grounds as nationalism
and leftist ideology.
• — Support the idea that religion and the state
can be separate in Islam too and that this does
not endanger the faith but, in fact, may
strengthen it.
• Promote them in the media and bring them to
upper posts of Government.

 What does Islam say about being
broken into sects?
• “And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope
of Allâh (i.e. this Qur'ân), and be not divided
among yourselves.”
(SURAH ALE IMRAN CHAPTER 3 VERSE 103)
• “Verily, those who divide their religion and
break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects),
you have no concern in them in the least. Their
affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them
what they used to do.”
(SURAH INAAM CHAPTER 6 VERSE 159)
 IS ISLAM JUST SOME FORMS OF
WORSHIP?
• Islam is a complete code of Life and the
perfect way of life. The Word ‘Mazhab’ is not
at all used for Islam in the Quran. The word
‘Deen’ is used instead. Deen means Way of
life.
• Islam is a socio/economic/political system.
Why is the west so afraid of Islam?
• Because Islam is conquering their culture. In London
Last Year 50000 people reverted to Islam. In France
after every 5 minutes a person is reverting to Islam.
• The Americans are coming towards Islam. Islam is a
challenge to their civilization you know why?
• Because the Holy Prophet(pbuh) said:
“Wherever you see an evil, stop it from your hand. If
not from your hand then from your tongue and if you
are not able to do that then atleast curse it in your
heart.” (Sahih Muslim-Book of Faith)
• So whatever evil the west will do the Muslim is there to
stop it.

 HOW TO FOLLOW ISLAM?
• “O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islâm (by
obeying all the rules and regulations of the
Islâmic religion) and follow not the footsteps of
Shaitân (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain
enemy.”
(SURAH BAQARAH CHAPTER 2 VERSE 208)
• So we should accept all the rules and laws of
Islam and not reject the perfect laws made by
Allah Almighty.
 MODERNIST’S REVIEW
• Can Islam be reformed?
• Please note that when is it required to reform
something? Either it is not perfect or not
appropriate for a certain time.
• Is Islam not perfect and not for all ages?
• "...This day, I have perfected your religion for
you, completed My Favour upon you, and
have chosen for you Islâm as your religion...“
(SURAH MAIDA CHAPTER 5 VERSE 3)
 Allah further says:
• "And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled
in truth and in justice. None can change His
Words. And He is the All-Hearer, the
All­Knower.“ (SURAH INAAM CHAPTER 6
VERSE 115)
 WHO SHOULD MAKE THE LAWS AND
WHO SHOULD BE FOLLOWED?
• “...those who do not make decisions according to Allah's laws, are
kafir” (5:44)
• “.... those who do not make decisions according to Allah's laws,
are zalim (mushrik)” -(5:45)
• “..... those who do not make decisions according to Allah's laws,
are fasiq (disobedient”) - (5:47)
• "It is not fitting for a Believer man or woman when a matter
has been decided by Allah and His Apostle to have any option
about their decision if anyone disobeys Allah and His Apostle he
is indeed on a clearly wrong Path.“ (SURAH AHZAAB CHAPTER 33
VERSE 36)
 Fundamentalist
• A fundamentalist is a person who follows and adheres
to the fundamentals of the doctrine or theory he is
following.
• For a person to be a good doctor, he should know,
follow, and practise the fundamentals of medicine. In
other words, he should be a fundamentalist in the field
of medicine. For a person to be a good mathematician,
he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals
of mathematics. He should be a fundamentalist in the
field of mathematics. For a person to be a good
scientist, he should know, follow and practise the
fundamentals of science. He should be a
fundamentalist in the field of science.
 DR ZAKIR NAIK’S STATEMENT ABOUT
FUNDAMENTALIST:
• “I am a fundamentalist Muslim who, by the grace of Allah, knows,
follows and strives to practise the fundamentals of Islam. A true
Muslim does not shy away from being a fundamentalist. I am proud
to be a fundamentalist Muslim because, I know that the
fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole
world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm
or is against the interests of the human race as a whole. Many
people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several
teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to
insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam. If one critically
analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot
escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual
and collective levels.” (Most common questions asked by non
Muslims- Page 16)
 TERRORIST!!
• Every Muslim should be a terrorist. A terrorist is a
person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a
policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for
the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist
for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves,
dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social
element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true
that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person
who causes terror among the common people. But a
true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective
people i.e. antisocial elements, and not to the common
innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of
peace for innocent people.
 Different labels given to the same individual for the same action,
i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’

• Before India achieved independence from British rule, some

freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence
were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same
individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and
hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the
same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a
terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed
that Britain had a right to rule over India called these people
terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no
right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters.
• It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given
a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the
situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of
the person should be taken into account, and then the person can
be judged accordingly.
• When a mother beats her kid, the kid comes back to
her. Where would he go after all?
• Oh America and India you are our mother, you kill our
sisters/our daughters/our women/our brothers/our
children in kashmir and Palestine and one day you kill
US. But don’t worry we will come to you for shelter.
Where else can we go?
• We will adopt your culture. We will fully support your
ideology. We will degrade our Islamic way of life. We
will degrade our Islamic moral values. We will
disrespect our modest Islamic teachings. Please don’t
forsake us.
• We salute you America, you have successfully
divided us into Fundamentalists,
Traditionalists, Modernists and Secularists.
• And God, Please go and sit in the mosque. We
will come to You five times and do prostration
before You. But kindly Please don’t interfere in
our personal lives. We will decide what’s good
and bad for us. We will decide whether to
spend life by Your will or by our will.
• We will decide what’s modest and what’s not.
• We will decide whether to follow your Book or
the west and the Indian media.
• You please sit in the mosque with ease. We
will surely come and show you our face.
• At least in the Friday prayer. That’s a promise…
 ALLAH ALMIGHTY SAYS:
• “Have they not seen how many a generation before them
We have destroyed whom We had established on the earth
such as We have not established you? And We poured out
on them rain from the sky in abundance, and made the
rivers flow under them. Yet We destroyed them for their
sins, and created after them other generations.” (SURAH
INAAM CHAPTER 6 VERSE 6)
• “And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any
that will remember (or receive admonition)? “ (SURAH AL-
QAMAR CHAPTER 54 VERSE 51)
