OBJECTIVE
Seeking position of Research/Design engineer to provide solutions of problems by
application of latest equipped knowledge and quench my thirst for proving and
polishing my innovative skills while simultaneously gaining hands on experience.
EDUCATION INSTITUTE
RESEARCH INTERESTS
I love designing new systems that are can improve the standard of living of human
society. The areas include Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics Systems, Strength of
Materials and Control Systems
The project involved detailed engineering analysis and relevant research. This Project is aimed to
produce a power output of 40 W for demonstration purpose. There were various methods available
to harness solar energy. However, direct steam generation was found to be the most cost effective
solution.
The Paper entitled 'Analysis of Solar Thermal Power Plant with Direct Steam Generation' was
presented at NED University, Karachi, for the competition SPEC 2010 held on 19 April 2010 in the
category Call for Papers. In this paper, a detailed mathematical model is described for optimum
selection of boiler (saturated section), super heater along with their corresponding heat losses.
Mathematical calculations were further extended for bare and glass covered tube. Analysis performed

on the basis of different Nusselt and Reynolds No. for an open cycle. The Mathematical Model has
concluded that glass tube design is more efficient even in windy conditions.
The Paper was presented at NED University for the competition SPEC 2010 in the category “CALL
FOR PAPERS” and Paper was awarded Runner Up.
A Prototype Solar Power Plant Using Direct Steam Generation (DSG) Concept
This paper entitled 'A Prototype Solar Power Plant Using Direct Steam Generation (DSG) Concept'
was presented at Quaid-e-Awam University, Nawabshah at the 3rd National Conference on
"ENERGY RESOURCES OF PAKISTAN: POTENTIAL, UTILIZATION, CONSERVATION,
& IMPACT ON ENVIRONMENT".
In this paper Direct Steam Generation (DSG) method is compared with other parabolic trough
technologies including Heat Transfer Fluid to harness Solar Energy. In this method steam is
generated directly in the parabolic-trough collectors. This saves cost by eliminating the need for the
heat transfer fluid (HTF) system and reduces the efficiency loss involved with using a heat exchanger
to generate steam.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENC E
Sui Southern Gas I have the above experience in the Gas Transmission Department of Sui Southern Gas
Company Company Limited (SSGCL) which started from 23rd June 2008 and lasted for six weeks.
Limited A summary of my jobs in following subunits of Transmission Department are given
below.
Introduced to Pipeline instruments like Scrubbers, Filters, Flow meters, and valves and
did study on their working. Also a schematic and a 3D model was made on AutoCAD
and Solid Edge of the Sales Meter Station clearly stating each equipment installed
Compressors:

Gas Control
24 Hours Monitoring where different flow parameter, pressure and flow rate, of each
station are recorded via SCADA system and phone.
Did survey of Pipe to soil Potential of underground pipelines to see if enough voltage is
fed to the pipeline to prevent it from being corroded. Saw Coating and wrapping where

PSP was low and did the testing of the coat and wrap via Holiday Testing.
Maintenance
All type of maintenance work is being performed there, which includes vehicles,
welding, and cutting operation.
Moreover, a day at Liquid Handling facility (LHF) Hyderabad was also spent where
Liquid Fractions are extracted and sold to Attock Refinery Limited.
I was also given a case study, on replacing control (throttle) valve with turbine coupled
to generator to utilize the energy being wasted to produce power and the efforts were
appreciated.
AWARDS RECEIVED
Presidential Gold Medal at NUST Convocation
I am awarded with the above medal by the Chief of Naval Staff for securing the highest CGPA
among the entire batch of Mechanical Engineering in the batch of 2006-2010.
This was a National Robotics Competition that was organized by Robotics and Mechatronics
Society-PNEC and my robot stood as Runner Up in Robo Race Category. The Robot movement
was restricted from pure rotation and had to develop link motion to propel forward.
I was selected as the President of Robotics and Mechatronics Society (RMS) on May 2009 and I
was given a task to form a student team and I planned, organized, and executed the successful
National Robotics Competition in 6 Months Span. After the conducting the successful contest, the
efforts were appreciated by Dean.
This Contest is being held by College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CEME), a campus
of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). The objective of this competition was
to design an autonomous robot which moves and throws balls at specified targets placed at various
locations. The Certificates were awarded by Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Maqbool, former
Governor of Punjab
The workshop, attended from 25 December 2005 to 29 December 2005, was conducted by Time
Lenders. From this experience I learnt the purpose of my life and it is has led my to have a clear
vision and mission, plan and achieve them by accordingly through dividing into goals, using a
small notebook as gate keeper of tasks, quadrants and daily scheduler.

IT Exhibition Participation
Made a model software on KESC billing system in Visual Basic Environment and displayed it in an
Exhibition which was organized NCR Pakistan.
I also participated in National Software Competition where we were assigned to design a program to
generate the required output. I feel proud to quote here that I was awarded with Best Coding Award.
Solar Eclipse
A small physical model made in school to show the orientation of sun, moon and earth during solar
eclipse.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Performed as The President of the Robotics Society, where I made sure that the society is directed
to achieve its objectives i.e. to promote robotics research in area of robotics, organize competitions
and industrial tours, and arranged lectures.
