Thank you for your enquiry into having your wedding at either the Down to Earth venue or the Bush
Lapa venue. We take pleasure in offering you the following information:
The Down To Earth Venue is the ideal setting for hosting a function of up to 100 guests. The venue is
built with clay, straw, wood and stained glass gables. The interior is rugged but stylish with yellow wood
6 –seater and 4-seater tables and an intimate dance floor. It has a sweeping view of the Indian Ocean
which is framed by the silhouette of Mossel Bay in the background. The spacious wooden deck can be
used for the wedding ceremony and is ideally suited for spitbraai’s.
The grass land in front of the restaurant is the perfect spot for a romantic marques tent and outdoor
activities.
Our 3 star graded guest house consists of 4 self-catering units and is situated 50m from the Down to
Earth venue. It can accommodate up to thirteen guests.
The Restaurant is well known for its affordable tasteful country cuisine like our famous red wine oxtail,
rosemary leg of lamb, dried fruit stuffed pork roll, pumpkin fritters, home made breads and jams etc.

Children
Children under the age of 13 years will be charged 50% of the agreed adult menu price. A kiddies menu
is also available.
Children under the age of 2 years will not be charged.
Bar services
The Bush Lapa is partially enclosed with a roof and can accommodate 180 people in the enclosed area.
In total the Bush Lapa can accommodate 300 people.

• Complete Guest House included honeymoon suite -sleeps 9 (excl Breakfast) : R1800 out
of season
• Bar facilities until 12pm, thereafter an hourly fee of R200
• R20 Cork fee - no own alcohol except wine
• Menu can be adjusted to your requirements
The venue is offered as is, i.e. any special requirements such as draping, white table linen, candles,
flowers, or live music can be arranged by us at an additional cost.

Payment Requirements
• For weddings, the venue fee (Down to Earth R4500; Lapa R3000) is payable as deposit
immediately to confirm your booking
• Confirmation will be sent via email or fax upon receipt of proof of payment
• The outstanding catering bill is payable at least one day before the function
• A 50% deposit is required to confirm accommodation bookings.
• Please ensure that your details are filled in on the deposit slip and fax or email to Down to
Earth. Failure to do the above mentioned will delay confirmation of your reservation.
• In the event of non-payment of the fees within 3 working days of reservation, Down to
Earth is entitled to cancel the booking.
Cancellations:
• In the event of you cancelling or rescheduling your date (in writing) , subsequent to the venue
being paid, a refund will only be made in the event of Down to Earth’s liability to resell the
venue for a similar function on the date for which the function was booked.
Conditions
• Herold’s Bay Eco Resort shall not be held responsible for any interruptions of services (water,
electricity, sanitary service)
• Décor and props must be removed by 09:00 on the day following the function.
• Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safeguarding of your belongings, Herold’s
Bay Eco Resort will not be liable for loss or damage to any property whatsoever (décor, wedding
gifts, valuables, etc). We recommend that all personal and valuable property be removed directly
after the function.
• Should the Down to Earth building or Bush Lapa, surrounding garden, décor or napery be
damaged in any way during the set up time period of a function, the client shall be held
responsible and will be billed accordingly.
• Herold’s Bay Eco Resort its employees or any person employed at any function will not be held
liable to any loss, or injury to persons, due to negligence or other causes whatsoever.
• Nails, staples or any other damaging material my not be used during decorating.
• Only flower petals to be used as confetti.
