Agatha Christie's THE MOUSETRAP
"Three blind mice, three blind mice…" This is the
tune that haunts a group of guests gathered in
Monkswell Manor, in the north of England, for a
holiday. They are unaware that among their number
is someone who will be murdered, as well as the
murderer.
Agatha Christie's play, The Mousetrap, has been
running in London for over 50 years and
entertaining audiences from all over the world.
With great skill she portrays eight varied people,
each one of whom could be the potential
murderer; and teases the audience into determining
who the murderer is.
Portraying the characters in JEST's production
are veteran JEST performers –Malka Abrahams,
Jeanette Edry, Rivka Hirsch, Marvin Meital, Sam
Minskoff and Simon Montagu. To round off their
number we welcome newcomers Yoni Berman and
Mark Johnson to our cast. Director: Leah Stoller.

SEUSSICAL
Want the naches of seeing your child in a
Broadway musical? JEST is bringing the
Broadway musical Seussical to Jerusalem.
This pulsating, high-energy musical show
has roles for 20 children, ages 8-18. If
you and your child are interested in
finding out more and possibly trying out,
please come to a pre-audition
presentation/workshop at the Nurit
Katzir Center on Wednesday, February 16
between 7 and 10 pm.
Laurie and Valerie Issembert of
Rockville's Musical Theater Center, who
will produce and direct the play in
partnership with us, will be on hand to
give us a taste of what is in store. New
York actress/director Valerie Issembert
will conduct this unique theater workshop,
incorporating directed games that focus
on fundamental physical and vocal skills
required of an actor. Participants will be
asked to present audition songs (Please
prepare a song), and Valerie will
demonstrate how to deconstruct the
lyrics as in a monologue. Theater
exercises will include physical warm-ups,
vocal warm-ups, exploratory games, and
collaborative composition in small groups.
Children who make the cast are likely to
have the time of their lives (final casting
will not be made that night). This is a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
children to participate in a large scale
Broadway play with American
professionals.
Registration fee: 20 NIS per child, adults
free. Space is limited: we cannot
guarantee to admit walk-ins without pre-

beyond. JEST is the premier theater
group in Jerusalem, with over 25 years of
producing shows of excellent quality and
variety, including drama, musicals,
