In line with the requirement to come up with a topic for research, the
group would like to propose a project and research study entitled “Design
and Development of a Cost Reduction Energy Device for Power
Management.”

This project is a response to a common and inevitable problem among

cost diminution for excessive use of electricity or power mismanagement
among electric consumers. In lieu of this, the consumer will not only be
managing his power consumption but will also be able to save money for the
electric bill.

The device that we are to develop is a microcontroller unit – based

portable energy device on which is designed for electronic appliances that
needs a supply of 220V ac for them to function. It is a device capable of
measuring the power consumption through the use of coins that once
inserted, it is the only time an appliance will work and so the energy device.
An appliance will be plugged in the energy device while the device will have
its 220V/AC as its source.

It is composed of an electric meter, a coin slot, a voltage regulator, a

relay, a magnetic contactor, a photo electric sensor for the sensing of the
revolution of the meter disc and an LCD display to know the remaining
minutes of consumption.

We are looking forward for your most favorable response regarding

this proposal. Thank you very much!

Attached herewith is the block diagram of the said project.

Very truly yours,
