Valentine’s Party-Fellowship

Date: Feb 13, 2011 @ 5-8 PM

Place: THOB Church

I. The Need
What’s our present situation?
E12 network is growing in numbers
We have members of varying age groups (high school, college, young pro)
So far, fellowship is done only through cell groups
Youth meetings don’t count for fellowship (in my opinion)

What is our need?

We need to have an activity that would connect all of our cell groups into one network
Activity: gathering, fellowship, not necessarily a major major event
Through activities like this, we could fortify our youth network by building stronger
relationships-friendships

What should be addressed first?

History tells us how dragging activities can be for us
But we should also be reminded that through fellowship activities do we actually win over some
of our E12 friends now (Pao from DBVS, Jeng from Ignite, etc)
Activities, then, should be fun, stressful
We currently have four cells with more or less five members per cell.
So we have roughly 20 youth members in out network.
In terms of financing, we have our source. Ü
So our major obstacle is finding a way to set up an activity that would not be stressful for us, but
instead would be fun and memorable

II. The Solution

What are the steps we could take to solve it?
1. Make it simple
Do not make it very extravagant
The quality of the fellowship is what’s important here, not really the food or whatsoever
2. Make it inviting
For it to be not stressful for us, we need to start thinking about it as an opportunity to enjoy
rather than a sore responsibility
And when we choose to be happy about it, we’ll be contagious and it’ll be inviting to others
3. Commit
Hundred percent commitment. No complaints. No excuses. That’s all we need to give.
III. Commitment
I’m asking for your full commitment in our activity. And so, if you are willing, pray this prayer right
now as an oath to God that you will commit your all to our Feb-fellowship activity. Ü

Father God, here I am, making this covenant to take part in our fellowship gathering on
February 13. I commit myself to the fulfillment of this event; that I will do the tasks
assigned to me and I will work with a heart that gives glory to Your Name. Lord, help me
cope with my other responsibilities outside this activity. I believe that my service for you
will not be in vain. In the mighty name of Your Son, Jesus I pray. Amen.

IV. Details
Assuming that you prayed the prayer above, let’s proceed with the details.
But instead of giving the details (which I don’t have, hehehe), I’ll just delegate the responsibilities to
people I see fit for the tasks. (And I’ve asked God’s wisdom for this)

5. Budget
- Upon submission of proposals, we can then determine how much we would ask from the
Church
- Nevertheless, we will all contribute 30 pesos for this event

P.S.
This is really our pastor’s idea. Not mine. That’s why I don’t have anything in mind when I called
the meeting. When Pastor told me about this, I told him that I don’t think we can do it since we’ve
tried so many activities before, and we always end up being tired. But God told me to submit to my
discipler. He told me that there are things he can see that I cannot. This activity may appeal as just
another burden to you as it did to me. But I pray that it will motivate you when you see its possible
outcome.

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Place my yoke
over your shoulders, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for
yourselves because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matt 11:28-30 (GW)

God’s burden is light, that we can believe as true. Let’s help and support each other. That way, our
burdens will feel much lesser.

God bless us all. Ü
