Syllabus: Contains information about the education and curriculum required in the study of
Visual Communication Design (VCD) program, including the philosophy of education,
knowledge, and general skills in VCD, and especially about the study programs that
the faculty holds.
Explanation of the educational program and curriculum in VCD-ITB will be the
foreground of this subject.

Aim: To introduce and to generally give the students a picture of VCD study program;

two-dimensional designs.

Syllabus: The material of Basic Conceptual Drawing includes:
Berisi materi tentang teori dan praktika Menggambar Bentuk yang terdiri
dari :
1. Theory and practical skill of realistic conceptual drawing, using
anatomical approach and observation of the drawing object in order to get a
realistic result.
2. Theory and practical skill of constructive conceptual drawing, using
projection methods and studies of the object’s constructive form, in order to
result pictorial (constructive) drawings.
Aim: - To comprehend basic theory and skill of drawing that will be important for
visual designing
- To be familiar with basic drawing elements, such as points, color, texture,
structure, proportion, etc., and to be able to understand the potential of
tools, material, and drawing techniques.
- To develop imagination and creativity by practicing sensitivity to the
process and still life drawing, or even moving object drawing.

Type of Class: Lecture and practical activities
Syllabus: Giving knowledge and comprehension about many applications
related to general and basic visual communication, and the students
are expected to know different types of media and its treatment in
designing process.
In the application, students will be trained to work in medias that are
related to visual communication design, based on the comprehension
of technical aspects, verbal and visual communication aspects,
creative problem solving in dealing with different types of media.
This subject should inform about the function of:
1. Communication objective
2. Communication concept
3. Visualization concept
4. Media specification
5. Media application
It will also give comprehension of the importance of persuasion

Aim: To give comprehension and basic skill in dealing with designing


projects related to different types of media, that has close relation to

Silabus: Introduction to photography as a universal visual language that was born
originated from two platforms that are science (objective recording) and
philosophy (subjective interpretation). In terms of science, photography
includes: technology, optics, mechanism, and chemical processes. On the
other hand, philosophy sees photography in the context of philosophy
itself, art, individual concepts, aesthetics, and perception.
The introduction to basic techniques of photography includes lecture and
practical trainings about:
- Short history of photograpy
- Basic philosophy of photography
- Camera intrduction (pockets, SLR, medium format, view camera,
and digitals)
- Introduction to flashes
- Introduction to films (negatif, diapositive, polaroid, infra red, dan
smart card)

Tujuan: To have the students understand and able to use basic theories and

Silabus: A comprehension of the world of VCD in all perspective, and therefore
a study of graphic design history is recommended to fulfill the aim.

development of technology, and development of art, and the
