Syllabus: Contains information about the education and curriculum required in the study of
Visual Communication Design (VCD) program, including the philosophy of education,
knowledge, and general skills in VCD, and especially about the study programs that
the faculty holds.
Explanation of the educational program and curriculum in VCD-ITB will be the
foreground of this subject.
Aim: To introduce and to generally give the students a picture of VCD study program;
expecting the students to be able to proceed their education well and organized, and

Syllabus: The subject includes the theories and practical activities about the concepts
of materials and the basic principles of visual, including dot/points, line,
surface, form, color, texture, composition, rythm, balance, contrast, accent,
harmony, and so on, focusing in the conciousness and understanding in
two-dimensional designs.

Syllabus: Information about the progress of philosophy, educational development,
and the practice in the field of visual communication design; in relation to
the development of scince and technology of communication that should
be anticipated by visual communication professionals, in local or global
terms.
Aim: To understand and comprehend the development of knowledge and
professional prospects in the field of visual communication design that
vastly progresses in global education and in today’s industrial
environment, and to make it a challenge for visual communication
professionals in local and global context.

Type of Class: Lecture and practical activities
Syllabus: Contains the theory and practical skills connected to the improvement and
application of concept, principle, and elements in visual composition
designing as the conceptual basic of art and design. It includes:
- Composition as the physical appearance of design
- Composition as visual language of design
- Composition as visual image of design
Aim: -To comprehend the theories and practice of composition as the conceptual
basic of visual design and arts.
-To develop creativity, skills, and sensitivity in viewing visual object that had
been arranged in composition, in order to create communicative meanings
and values.
Aim: -To understand the theory and concept of anatomy and dynamic perspective
forms, with proportion and charractarized objects.
-To develop imagination dan creativity by working out sensitivity and skill in
the process of still-life and moving object drawing.
Aim: To advance the ability of digging and searching for data, building creative and
effective messages, training cooperation in solving communication problems.

Subject: Final Assignment/Diploma Thesis for Graphic Design
Subject Code: DK40Z1
Semester: 8 (eight)
Credits: 08 credits
Type of Class: Practical activities
Syllabus: Preparing a design package (for final assignment) or thesis (by research),
according to their specialization . This task should be done individually; data
serching, analysis, problem solving, up to visualisation should be done
structurely with assistance. The work will be evaluated, marked, and
presented in an academic judging forum.
Aim: Students are expected to be able to integrate all knowledge in the discipline
of visual communication, in order to produce a project or research
comprehensively, and resulting a work of design or a thesis.
Aim: Guiding students to be able to use visual language thorugh basic multimedia
in the right comprehension, visual techniques and manipulation, and also the
management of multimedia production.
Aim: Students are expected to be able to integrate all knowledge in the discipline
of visual communication, in order to produce a project or research
comprehensively, and resulting a work of design or a thesis.

Syllabus: This subject focuses in the advertising persuasion produced by the structure
of advertising, and that includes problem solving, communication strategy,
creative strategy, visual strategy, media strategy, and art directing in
commercial campaigns.
Aim: The students are expected to comprehend and use persuasion techniques,
procedures, and are able to interpret creative brief, and producing effective
creative solutions.

Tujuan: Students are expected to know the principles of time based media, and able
to create a simple static audio visual program as an expression of idea and a
collaboration of visual language, audio elements, and timing, in a form of a
slide program.
Tujuan: This subject teaches general definition of research, techniques, and writing
methods for scientific papers/reports systematically, methodologically, and
objective, focusing on the descriptive-qualitative method.
Tujuan: To create discussion about the function and forms of graphic design
and especially VCD, pointing at the changes in social condition,
development of technology, and development of art, and the
existence of the world of visual communication design.
Tujuan: Students are expected to solve more complex and more specific
communication problems in media publishing, exhibition, display, and
corporate identity, using conceptual critical analysis through typography, for
solving design and communication problems.
Tujuan: To give knowledge about the theories of semiotics and rhetoric as tools for
visual analysis for many design application. By using examples of graphic
design applications, students will be able to evaluate and analyze visual
codes.
Tujuan: Students are expected to have the ability to bringing up topics and describing
it structurally into a paper, presenting the ideas, and defending it in a forum.
