MINUTES OF MAY 18TH, 2009 STAGG MUSIC BOOSTERS MEETING

Meeting called to order at 6:06pm.

Previous Minutes: Motion to approve Monica Wehmeier, second Dan Ciametti

President’s Report: Dalia thanked everyone for their help with the Band Banquet. She
presented Mr. Moan with flowers and a card at the Choir concert. Thanked Mr. & Mrs.
Ciametti, Mr. & Mrs. Wehmeier for their help on the Music Boosters room at the senior
party. Informed everyone that she received a thank you card from representatives of the
senior party.

Treasurer’s Report: Chris reported there is $58,555.62 as of today. For the year Music
Boosters generated 11,938.63.

Director’s Reports:
Mr. Mecozzi reported section leaders and drum majors are posted. April 25th Wind
Symphony traveled to Plainfield Concert Band Invitational and performed Ride and
Sorcerer’s Apprentice and did a great job. April 27th Marching Band Informational
Meeting was held in PAC @7:00pm. Awards Banquet was held at the Lexington House
on May 4th. Recital dates were May 14th @7:00pm Brass, May 18th Woodwinds. The
final Band Concert was May 12th @ 7:00pm. Wind Symphony to perform at Graduation
May 19th @ 5:30pm. Drum Clinics for Marching Band are Wednesday, May 20th 6-9pm,
Tuesday, May 26th 6-9pm, Wednesday, May 27th 6-9pm. Percussion recital (no drum
line clinic) Monday, June 1st. First Marching Charger Percussion Rehearsal is June 8th
and first Marching winds rehearsal is June 9th. Marching Band Mandatory Informational
Meeting (band camp) is July 21st @8:00pm. Reminders to students to turn in music,
folders, and to clean out lockers. Private lesson mailer will be sent out to students for
those interested in summer lessons. Disney 2010- either MLK or President’s Day
weekend. Jamboree at this time includes 6 bands. ISU MB tentatively scheduled to
perform in exhibition, as long as funding works out.
Kate Alstadt stated that three new members joined Winter Guard. Rehearsal to begin on
Thursdays as soon as school is out. Kate announced that Missy will be taking over both
programs next year. Kate asked that the budget for next year remain the same. Motion
was made to approve budget by Chris C. and Colleen Jahn seconding.

Mr. Moan stated that Choir’s finale concert was May 13th. Varsity choir will perform at
graduation. Voice recital will be on May 20th @ 6:00pm. U of I will be performing ―No
Comment‖ May 20th during 3, 4&5 periods.

Administrator’s Report:
Sandra Mech spoke on behalf of two senior students who were not enrolled in a music
program this year. On their behalf, she stated that these families were upset that they
were not included in the DVD at the Band Banquet, and the parents asked for an apology
along with a new DVD. Chris Chialdiaks agreed to make a new DVD for those two
students. Discussion ensued about forming a new policy for next year.

Committee Reports:
Marching Band: Dalia reported there are 25 students currently signed up. Some are
missing paperwork/deposits. The incomplete paperwork will be returned to students for
completion.

Jamboree—Lynda Schiappa is continuing efforts on this front.

MB Uniforms —Linda Malone reported that she handed over all info to Crystal &
Heather Page. Linda stated she picked up the last uniform from the cleaners, and made
repairs to 2 jackets (buttons). She also gave Mr. Mecozzi a glove inventory back in
December.

Membership: Colleen Jahn reported that hospitality provided treats for the Band & Choir
concerts May 12th & 13th, as well as the recitals on May 14th & May 18th. Membership
requested a Choir parent to help with the hospitality responsibilities.

Concert Uniforms – Monies still being collected.

External Communications – Chris noted again that pictures from this year can be seen on
his website @ www.ccphotogallery.com.

Ways and Means:


Market Day – pick up is on Monday, 5/18, and 6/15. Orders are down slightly.
Volunteers are always welcome to help during pick up from 6-8 pm.

Craft Show- November 13th, 14th&15th are the dates for the Fall Craft Show and March
19th, 20th, 21st are the dates for the Spring Craft Show next year.

Margaret Kristufek will be taking over Band Banquet for next year.

BUDGETS: Mr. Mecozzi, Mrs. Alstadt and Mr. Moan presented their budgets for next
year. Motion to approve budgets by Linda Malone, seconded by Dan Ciametti, voted on
and approved by the membership.

VOTING FOR NEW OFFICERS: Voting took place and Dalia congratulated the new
officers for the 2009-2010 school year:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Website Management---Lynda Schiappa will take on this job and hopes to have it up and
running by the start of Marching Band.

Motion to adjourn was made by Colleen Jahn, second by Lynda Schiappa. Meeting
adjourned at 7:20pm.
