Getting Started & Class Logistics
Course Prerequisites
EPH applicants must have:
* 32 credits in biological, physical, chemical or environmental
sciences (with one lab course; no grades below a C accepted)
* a minimum of 90 credits overall
Courses in biology and chemistry are strongly recommended. If
you lack 32 science credits, it may be possible to register for up to
nine (9) science credits earned by completing EPH plus additional
course work. Additional fees, payable to Rutgers Summer Session,
will apply. Please contact us if you are interested in this option.
In order to sit for the state REHS Licensing Exam you must have
your Bachelors Degree and successfully complete the EPH program
or equivalent courses at the college level. Our office helps EPH
graduates with the application process for the NJ REHS exam.

Application Deadline
Applications must be received by May 13 to be considered for the
2011 course. After May 13, you are still invited to apply, and we
will consider your application on a space-available basis.

Time & Location
EPH meets from 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday for seven weeks
on the Cook Campus in New Brunswick. The course is followed by
a full-time 200-hour (approximately five weeks) internship at a NJ
health department (placement is provided by Rutgers).
Course Fees
The non-refundable application fee is $40. The registration fee is
$2,995 if received on or before May 13, 2011. After that date, the
registration fee is $3,145. The fee includes two large binders of
course materials that summarize class presentations and will serve
as a reference for regulatory, technical and managerial information
useful in the field for years to come.

Our office maintains contact with thousands of professionals and
hundreds of organizations in the environmental and public health
fields who notify us of job openings throughout the year. EPH
registrants have access to this informal job information network.
Interested participants will also learn how to improve their resume
- PAYMENT / REFUND / FEE INFORMATION -
Payment Policy - All students must have prearranged for payment to be admitted to the
class (purchase order, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or money order).
Refunds - You may withdraw from this course with a full refund (minus the $40
application fee) provided our office is notified at least five (5) full working days prior to
the start of the course. Beyond that time, registrants may be responsible for the full fee.
Substitutions are permitted.
Fees - Your registration fees cover any meals provided on the first and last day of class
as well as two binders of course materials. Students are responsible for buying required
and/or recommended textbooks on their own. The Reading List for 2011 will be
provided in your Welcome packet.
