woodside & summit middle schools ministry

what’s happening?
• Monday  night  club  was  all  about  the  Super  Bowl  and  the
commercials.  The  students  were  engaged  in  talking  about  all  the
time,  effort,  and  money  put  into  the  Super  Bowl  and  the
commercials.  As  they  left,  they  were  challenged  to  think  about  how
they  spend  all  their  time  and  effort.
• Student  Serve  (formerly  Student  Leaders)  is  back  up  and  running
at  both  schools  on  Tuesday  and  Thursday  mornings.  PRAY  that  the
students  involved  really  focus  in  on  WHO  they  are  in  God,  not
WHAT  they  do.
•“Matt”  is  a  7th  grader  who  I  have  got  to  know  since  last  year
during  my  time  at  the  YMCA.  He  started  attending  Monday  night
club  2  weeks  ago.  This  weekend,  I  got  a  text  from  Matt  bragging
how  he  and  his  friends  were  drinking  wine  during  the  Super  Bowl
as  bets  for  money.  PRAY  as  I  continue  meeting  with  Matt  and
sharing  God’s  love  with  him.
• “Em”  is  an  8th  grader  who  I  have  met  through  lunches  at
Woodside.  She  started  coming  to  club  last  week  and  has  really
opened  up  with  some  volunteers.  PRAY  as  we  continue  to  show
“Em”  God’s  love  through  her  struggles  in  life  and  school.
