PREFACE

For a management student training plays an important role during his/her


study. Training provides a corporate or real world platform to learn
practically. MBA degree without any training or corporate world
experience is just like song without music. So industrial training provides
a great learning experience about management concepts and its
applications.

This training provides us an opportunity to know the current market. To


know the current market situations, prevailing competitions, behavioral
environment of different people etc. It provides us a platform whereby we
can apply our theoretical knowledge and we can solve many practical
problems. And hence it can help us to be a successful manager in future.

Thanks to all those who directly or indirectly help me to complete this


project within a short span of time. For preparation of this report I would
like to thanks to faculty members of our college and staff members of
GNFC, Bharuch.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

It is a fact that none of the human being in this world is 100% perfect and
in order to gain some perfect ness in itself an individual surely needs a
helping hand. As I too was illiterate with this research topic that I selected
for my research at the initial stages, I got acquainted with it slowly and
steadily through efforts and surely from various intelligent and helpful
personalities.

First of all I am thankful to Mr. Punjara Sir , fog giving me an


opportunity to have training in GNFC.

I would like to thank Mr. D.S.Yadav Sir, chief marketing manager, who
have been source of constant inspiration and encouragement to me who
have from time to time offered valuable suggestion and ideas.

Mr. M.J.Bhorania Sir, Marketing manager also provide me necessary


guidelines and be so helpful me .so I am also thankful to him.

I also thanks my project guide Mr. Jitesh Parmar Sir, our Faculty for
assisting me throughout the project period, guiding me and assisting at
various stages and thus sharing his valuable knowledge with me to
enhance my knowledge and helping me in preparing a project.

I also thanks all the Faculty members, who directly or indirectly help me
to successfully complete my project.

Lastly, I would like to thanks all of those who have helped to furnish this
project successfully.
Executive summery

The days were gone where the farmers used to be depended on rain
and natural fertilizers. Today due to technological development
farmers are utilizing the new techniques of farming. The farmers are
utilizing the hi-tech tools, Pesticides and quality fertilizers to take the
maximum return of from the agriculture.

Fertilizers are one of the main utilities that are used by farmers in a
large quantity. Due to enough resource of water the farmers take more
than one crop during the year and so they need to utilize sufficient
fertilizers to provide enough neutricians to the crops.

To satisfy this demand of fertilizers there are many giant players in the
market along with the GNFC. Moreover there are also small fertilizers
manufactures. Thus we can say that the competition is there in this
fertilizers industry also and to sustain in this competition the company
needs to provide the quality products with good features & efficient
services.

Now, fertilizers is such product where more product differentiation is


not possible. The contain of the various fertilizers and the ratio of that
contain remain same whether. It is made by any manufactures.
(For Example: - In “Urea” the ratio of N.P.K. (Nitrogen, Potassium,
Calcium) remains same, whether. It is product by any company.)

In addition the company can do some minor charges (like the


from of fertilizers – powder form or form).
In such situation to attract the customers the company needs to be
depended upon the factors like packaging distribution channel,
services etc.

Packaging is something that provides a good support to the company


first of all the packaging provides protection to the fertilizers from
whether during transportation & storage. Moreover if also contain the
necessary information, printed on the bag. It also provides the
identification of the manufactures. So, the company needs to know the
opinion of the customers about the packaging that how they give
important to packaging. Whether they need some improvement,
whether they are satisfied with the prevailing packaging on packaging
what is important for him e.g. bag quality printed information
steaching weight of bag etc.

Moreover the company also needs to know where its packaging stands
compared to competitors so that the necessary steps can be taken.

Design / Methodology / Approach:-


Here sample size of 150 respondents (Farmers) of Mandvi and near by
villages, who uses the fertilizers. It is based on quantities analysis. For
my projects, I have used Description research Design with the help of
structured questionnaire filled up by respond only followed by personal
interview

Findings:-

1. 77% respondents use the fertilizers of GNFC.


2. 30.7% respondents are consuming more than 100 bags per year.
3. 26% respondents spend more than 100000 rupees on fertilizers
per year.
4. While choosing the fertilizers NPK ratio and brand are given
priorities first and second respectively.
5. 70% respondents believe that the crop wise information should
be printed on the bag.
6. HDPE bag is preferred
7. 27.3%respondents believe that the company should introduce
the bag with weight of 25-30 kg.
8. 54% respondents believe that the bag quality of the GNFC is
best.
9. 51%respondents believe that the packaging of GNFC is best.

RECOMMANDATIONS:

1. 77%respondents are using the GNFC fertilizers. The remaining


23%respondants complaint that they can not get the GNFC
fertilizers as and when required, due to non availability at the
dealer. And so the company should make the fertilizers easily
available.
2. The company should focus on printing the information like NPK
ratio. Name of the brand and the name of the fertilizer.
3. The company should introduce the bag with the weight of 25-30 kg.
Even to check the view of more farmers. It may possible that this
new weight can be appreciated by other farmers also.
4. The company should go for double packaging in other fertilizers
also, as it is demanded by the farmers.
5. The company should change the color of its bag. As many people
said the color should be sky blue or light green.
