Passed by the Henry County Board of Commissioners during its Jan. 18
meeting, a 120-day moratorium is in effect for permits, licenses or
approvals related to adult entertainment businesses.
The measure was approved primarily to grant commissioners time to
review and recommend any updates to the current ordinance.

“Taxpayer Protection Act”
ATLANTA – (February 8, 2011) State Senator Rick Jeffares (R-Locust Grove) has Co-Sponsored Senate Resolution 20 -
“Taxpayer Protection Act of 2011.” The proposed

Constitutional Amendment would limit how many tax dollars the state of Georgia can spend in any given year.

“The Taxpayer Protection Act will limit the size of government down to its necessary functions and will ensure that wasteful
spending doesn’t make it in the budget. It will give taxpayers the assurance that the legislature is spending their dollars
wisely and at the same time putting aside tax dollars in a rainy day fund,” said Senator Rick Jeffares.

“Senator Jeffares understands that we owe it to the taxpayers of this state to control spending. I appreciate his leadership
on this important issue. The Taxpayer Protection Act will protect future generations of Georgians from government growing
too large,” said Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers, the sponsor of the Resolution.

Senate Resolution 20 would restrict the state from spending any money in excess of the previous year budget adjusted for
inflation and population. Any additional revenue beyond the spending limitations would be required to go into the Rainy Day
fund until it reaches a point of 15% of the previous year spending. Once the rainy day fund is at 15% additional revenue
would be used to slowly phase-out the state income tax.

The Amendment was approved Wednesday by the Senate Finance Committee in a unanimous bi-partisan vote.

Sen. Rick Jeffares represents the 17th Senate District which includes Newton county and portions of Henry,
Rockdale and Spalding counties.

Health and wellness is a big issue with everyone these days. The cost of medical insurance is so ridiculously high and there seems
to be no stopping those costly premiums for going up yearly. Henry County, like many others, has experienced increases and took
steps to see how they could resolve the issue by offering employees access at a gym.
Cost benefit analysis is crucial to the understanding if the process is working. Is there a real cost savings to the program.

Law firm liable in bank failure, feds say

ATLANTA BUSINESS NEWS TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2011

Federal regulators are suing a prominent Henry County law firm in connection with a bank failure, reflecting the
government's widening legal efforts to recoup losses from Georgia’s banking meltdown.

The civil lawsuit against SMITH WELCH & BRITTAIN and one of its partners, J. MARK BRITTAIN, alleges malpractice in Brittain’s
handling of certain loans that Neighborhood Community Bank made to a Henry developer from 2005 to 2007.

Neighborhood Community failed in June 2009, and its failure cost the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s insurance fund an
estimated $66.7 million.

The suit is the fourth brought by the FDIC in the wake of the state's 55 bank failures, the most in any state since mid-2008.
Three are against law firms or lawyers.

The FDIC-led liability lawsuits in Georgia are part of an effort to restock the insurance fund that protects depositors.

Two law firms that did work for the failed Integrity Bank of Alpharetta were sued late last year by the FDIC for legal
malpractice. In January, eight bank insiders at Integrity Bank of Alpharetta — including state Sen. Jack Murphy, the new
chairman of the Senate banking committee — were accused of gross negligence in a $70 million suit by the FDIC.

In the Neighborhood Community case, the FDIC is seeking damages “in excess of $6 million,” plus legal fees.

The FDIC suit claims the bank hired Brittain to process loan documents for land purchases by Henry developer Jeff Grant.
Brittain had previously, and also during the time of loans, served as a lawyer for Grant and companies he owned.

The suit says Grant misrepresented the price of property he wanted to buy. In three instances, Grant obtained loans using
an inflated property price and used the amount over the actual purchase price as collateral to the bank and put some of the
funds into various companies he controlled.

In one case, the suit alleges Grant was to acquire a property for $3.36 million, with $625,960 deposited in a CD
account. But the actual purchase price was $2.64 million, and the difference was used to fund the deposit and for one
of Grant’s companies, the suit says.

Brittain, who worked for the bank in each of the cases, is accused of creating two conflicting
sets of “settlement statements” to facilitate the plan.

A Call To Suspend Professional Sports

Super bowl night would have been the best night to take over our Nation if another Country wanted to do so. I called

Hey Henry, we now have a new Rec. Center in the Fairview area, which is great, but it
is named Bruce Holmes Athletic Association, why not Fairview Athletic Association?
Newly elected commissioner: “Look at me!”
Hey Henry, just noticed the proposed strategic plan for Henry County Schools on
their website. Does it take a culture and climate focus team to handle problems in our
schools? All we need are administrators and teachers that are able to uphold their moral
obligations to our children, and if they can't, they should be held accountable for their
actions.
Culture & Climate Change? How about Educating the kids??
I have another solution for "May be in the Dark."
Public Service Commissioners (PCS) are elected officials. Georgia Power must receive
permission from the Public Service Commission in order to raise our rates.
In the decade I have lived in Georgia, I don't think I have ever seen a rate increase
turned down by the Public Service Commission. I most definitely could be wrong about
this. It seems as if every time Georgia Power asks, the PCS says yes to a rate
increase. Just recently in the news I heard about the current rate increase and only one
PCS official voted against the increase.
So my solution: never vote for an incumbent PCS official again. A few years back I
began to consistently, in every election that they were on the ballot, to vote for any one
except the incumbent. Throw these officials, who seem to have no concern for the
average Georgian, out of office and get people in who will fight for the consumer. Make
these PCS officials accountable to the people not to Georgia Power. There are other
ways to fund nuclear power than to put the burden on the consumer.

Hebron pastor leaving after 33 years
On Sunday, he announced that he is leaving the Dacula church to assume a new role at
the North American Mission Board. Wynn has served at Hebron since 1978 and was
nominated for his new role by NAMB president Kevin Ezell.
The Rev. Larry Wynn, the senior pastor at Hebron Baptist Church, is leaving the Dacula
church after 33 years to assume a new role at the North American Mission Board. Wynn
was just 25 years old when he became the pastor, working out of a small chapel,
pictured on the left, with only 342 members. In 1989, a new chapel was built, pictured
on the right, before they opened the 3,600 seat worship center on the campus. The
church has grown to more than 11,000 members today.

nine people and only one out of nine was not watching the super bowl. I had called to discuses things going on in our
Nation that affect our way of life. Now most of you know I don’t watch professional sports because it is wrong to pay
people to play a game Millions of dollars when we pay our police and fire such a low wage putting their lives on the line
every day to protect us. As I write this there are things going on in the world that will have an adverse affect on your
way of life and the Nation as a whole.

We have China wanting to devalue the Dollar so we will lose it as the worlds reserve currency, which would mean
everything we buy would go up in price just about over night. Can you afford $8.00 Gal gas? Or say $5.00 for a can of
soup (the store brand) to feed your family; it is possible if we lose the dollar as the world currency.

We are seeing right now the Mid East is getting un-stable by the day. If it gets too bad the transportation of oil that our
nation runs on could be disrupted. That $8.00 Gal gas just went to $11.00 Gal and you only get 6 Gal a week it’s called
rationing its been done before folks.

We have our boarder’s wide open for every thing in the world to come in and suck us dry; not say about the politicians
that are letting this happen so they can get their votes and get back into office so they can get rich off of the citizens.

Now let’s talk about what our government is doing to us.

Everyone should know by now about the TSA groping people at the airport security lines and full body scanners. This is
a violation of your rights under un-reasonable searches with out a warrant one of our basic rights violated.

We all know about the Department of Homeland Security putting screens in over 9,000 locations telling the public if you
see something suspicious to say something. This is telling you one to spy on your fellow Americans. And two it tells you
that they think you are stupid by having to be told if you see something suspicious to tell someone; any moron knows
to do this.

The President has said that if you build a coal fired electric plant you will go bankrupt because you will be taxed heavily
for carbon output. Yet China is allowed to build coal plants without any tax what so ever. Part of Texas has had rolling
blackouts the past few weeks because of some of the plants have had to cut back on the amount of electricity they
produce because of the high taxes placed on them. And the large energy companies are on board with this so they can
take over the smaller ones and grow their pocketbooks and bottom line. They are trying to gain a monopoly on the
power grid and we will pay higher energy bills so they can line their pockets with our money.

We have the government putting chemicals in the water supply and saying its good for you but then turns around and
said don’t give it to babies because it could harm them. How can we trust them anymore when they don’t know what
they are doing or do they?

It has come out that the government has and is trying to weaponize the weather. Just think of all the chemical trails
you see in the sky that hangs around for hours; regular water vapor would disperse after a few minutes.

It has been reported in Florida that the TSA is setting up checkpoints and photographing people and drawing blood
samples to put in a database. Again this is with out a warrant to do this; another violation of your basic rights.

During World War Two for two years 1941-1942 Professional Baseball was suspended because it was deemed not an
important issue during the War.

Folks we are in a War right now a War that will determine if America is to survive as a Nation of the people by the
people. Or if we will become a Nation dictated to by tyranny of a dictator who is controlled by a global array of power
hungry mad men. Professional sports have distracted the American people by design so you would not see the tyranny
coming at you like a freight train. I have seen reports that people going into the Super Bowl were searched as if they
were getting on a plane at the airport. And they happily got molested to get in to see the game. In order to try and
break the cycle of being zombies to the system we must suspend professional sports so the people can concentrate on
getting America back on the right path for the people and for the children so they will have a Nation to call their own.
Americans have been distracted for far too long its time to stop the insanity and fight for our freedoms our founding
fathers gave their lives for. We must save this Nation so they would have not died in vain.

Henry County Republican Party to Hold Precinct Mass Meeting

On Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., the Henry County Republican Party will convene Precinct Mass Meetings to
elect Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the Henry County Republican Party Convention.

All Henry County residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged
to participate in the process.

Registration will open at 9:00 AM on February 12, 2011 at the Eagle's Landing Church of God, 1640 Highway 42N,
McDonough, GA 30253.

All delegates or alternates must provide valid Georgia photo identification and should bring a copy of their voter card or
