JVS Toronto Youth Services
JVS Toronto believes that giving young people the opportunity to succeed
at work and at school is critical to their success and is essential for building
a strong and healthy community. More than 5,000 youth benefit annually
from our Youth Services programs. Our goal is to continue to provide and
develop programs that address the unique employment and educational
needs of Toronto’s youth.

With youth unemployment at 16.9% - according to Statistics Canada,

August 2010 - our work at JVS Toronto has never been more vital. Today,
we are assisting a record number of young Canadians to regroup, retrain
and become more productive! In doing so, both our community and future
corporate sector will reap the benefits.

Proceeds from the 2011 Bowl-A-Thon will benefit the following

Youth Services programs:

GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (GED)

A partnership with Frontier College, this program provides Pre-GED and GED
preparation and certification and literacy training to youth living in the Jane
Finch community.

YOUTH TRAINING
The Retail Source program provides training in customer service and sales
to youth-at-risk through a combination of in-class instruction and paid
placements, allowing participants to increase their self-confidence, meet retail
job expectations and gain experience in a team environment.

YOUTHREACH
YouthReach supports youth who have been in conflict with the law. Since
2000, YouthReach has helped over 1,400 youth overcome barriers through
case management, employment counselling and job development.

FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR YOUTH FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE
