A linear systematic random sampling 1technique will be adopted for determination of
sample size for all initiatives under ABC monitoring program. For practical assessment
of IP-A, 95% confidence level will be used in a confidence limit of +/-10 percentage
points for determination of sample size.
c
n= K2p(1-p)
D2
n= required sample size
K= a constant value depends confidence interval. Normally 5% or 10% confidence
interval is employ for determination of sample size. Values for above mentioned
confidence interval percentage are;
÷ For 5% CI: 1.956
÷ For 10% CI: 1.645
P= Probability of response. Since all the survey results are highly prone to affect by
non-response or incorrect responses, hence the digestible percentage of probability of
response (50%) 2is included for determination of sample size.
D= confidence interval or acceptable margin of error.

-o select the samples from beneficiaries list, a stepping interval will be used for this
purpose. Stepping interval can be calculated once we determined the sample size. -he
formula for calculation of stepping interval is SI= N/n.
Every th3 number according to calculated stepping interval will be selected as sample.
A quantitative coded questionnaire for guided interview has been developed based on
poverty scorecard testing, receipt of benefits and impact of cash assistance.
