Q1. What is Internet Banking?


Internet Banking enables a customer to perform basic banking transactions through PC
or laptop located anywhere in the globe.

Q2. What is special about Internet Banking?


It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you can operate your account
anytime / anywhere at your convenience.

Q3. What I need to use the services?


You need a PC with minimum PII processor, 32 MB RAM with Internet Explorer 5.0 or
above and Internet Connection. The Internet Banking application is best viewed using
Internet Explorer browser only.

Q4. How I will get the application form?


The Application form can be downloaded from our website i.e. www.obcindia.co.in
(Under Customer Service >> Form Warehouse option) or from Internet Banking Website
ie.

Q5: What is the URL for Internet Banking?

Q6. How do I get access to Oriental Bank’s NetBanking Services?


You need to have an account at any of our Branch. Then you need to register for the
Oriental Bank’s NetBanking Services with the branch by filling NetBanking application
form. We shall be sending the user-id at your address, as mentioned in the application
form and the password(s) to the branch where you maintain your account. You will be
instructed in the letter to collect your sealed password envelope from the branch.
Please logon to https://www.obconline.co.in/ or www.obcindia.co.in using the user-id
and password in your possession to access your account information. During the first
login, you have to change password.

Q7. But I do not have an account with OBC?


We shall be glad to have your account with us. Walk in any of our branches,
our staff will assist you.

Q8. I am a non-resident Indian. How do I apply for Oriental Bank’s NetBanking


Services?

1. If you want to avail Internet Banking Services, when you are outside India,
Download and fill in the Oriental Bank’s NetBanking application form. Submit
your Oriental Bank’s NetBanking application form with a copy of your passport to
the branch where you have accounts. Branch will process your NetBanking
Application Form.
2. User-Id will be generated by Internet Banking Department and sent directly to
you on the address mentioned by Air-Mail. You will receive your User-Id within 7
working days.
3. On receipt of the same, kindly intimate your Branch in-writing or through Fax
about receiving your User-Id and authorizing any person to collect your sealed
Password or you may even request branch to send your sealed Password by
Airmail.

Q9. How do I get User-Id and password for the Internet Banking Services?
User - id and password will be generated in a secure environment. User-Id will be
generated by Internet Banking Department and sent directly to you on the address
mentioned in Application form by Courier. You will receive your User-Id letter within 7
working days wherein you will be instructed to collect your sealed Password from the
branch.

Q10. Why are the User-id and Password so cryptic?


The machine generates User-id and passwords for your first time access randomly and
we have no control over it. It is mandatory to define your own passwords at first login.
Hence change it while using it for the first time.

Q11. Can I change the system generated User-id and Password?


It is mandatory for you to change the system generated passwords with your own
convenient passwords at first login. Later on at any time you can change your
passwords but not the user-id.

Q12. How to change passwords?


Passwords can be changed any time and any number of times through the “Customise
–Change password” option provided in the menu. In fact we recommend it should be
changed often to secure your access to your accounts through Internet.

Q13. How to choose passwords?


Please ensure to choose the password of minimum 6 characters and the password
should be a combination of alpha, numeric & special characters. It shall make the
password more secure.

Q14. What are the good practices for creating a password?


You are requested to choose a password that is not a dictionary word and not
guessable from your personal information known to others such as names in the family,
vehicle numbers etc. You should change your password frequently. Please try to
remember the password and do not write it down or paste it somewhere. Last but not
the least, do not divulge your password to anybody even if they claim to be from the
bank.

Q15. What happens if I forget my logon password or my Password gets disabled?


Nothing to worry. When user forgets the Internet Banking facility passwords, new
passwords may be obtained from the Bank against a request in writing duly signed by
concerned Users. The request may be forwarded to the concerned branch or a scanned
copy of the request letter may be mailed to ibank@obc.co.in (Fax:040-66319350) for
processing the same.

Q16. What happens if I forget my User-id for Internet Banking?


If you forget the user-id for Oriental Bank’s NetBanking Services, kindly contact your
branch, to whom we will inform your User.Id.

Q17. I am not able to open Internet Banking Page. I am getting a "Page cannot be
displayed" page.
Please check the cipher strength of your system. You may check cipher strength of your
computer by clicking "About Internet Explorer" in the "Help" menu option of Internet
Explorer. If it does not show cipher strength of 128-bit then please update the same by
clicking "Update Information" button.

Please note that the NetBanking application is supported only through Internet Explorer
browser version 5.0 and above.

Also ensure that SSL 2.0 & SSL 3.0 boxes are marked checked under the Internet
Explorer option : Tools >> Internet Options

Q18. Is it safe to login from Cyber Cafe?


Yes, provided you do not disclose your passwords and logout in proper way.

Q19. What happens if I don't logout?


If you do not logout or leave your system in between doing Internet Banking, this will
give opportunity to others around you to operate your accounts.

Q20: I have not received my user-id Or passwords.


Kindly contact your branch in case you do not receive the User.id letter within a
reasonable time period. Branch will further contact the Internet Banking Cell to know its
status. However Password(s) will be first received directly by the Branch and then
handed over to you, after you receive the User.Id letter.

Q21: Within how many days will I get my password?


You can expect the password to reach your branch within 7 working days of your giving
request at the branch.

Q22: What are the charges for these services?


Currently Oriental Bank’s NetBanking services are available Free of Cost.

Q23: What all accounts can be provided with Internet Banking?


Practically all accounts can be provided with Oriental Bank’s NetBanking User id. Viz.
Saving Accounts, Current/CC/OD accounts, Loan accounts, FD Accounts and Deposit
Accounts etc.
Q24: Can I have 2 user ids?
In case the account is of the individual accounts of the same person, it is better to have
a single user id so that all accounts can be monitored in one shot. If you have joint
account & individual accounts you may opt for separate user ids.

Q25: Is user id and password case sensitive?


User id is not case sensitive whereas passwords are case sensitive.

Q27: What are the facilities/services available through Internet Banking?


Services offered through Oriental Bank’s NetBanking
1. Account Related Operations for all the accounts in the CBS branches
• Online Balance Inquiry on Accounts.
• View last (n) transactions.
• Statement of Account for given range of Dates, Amount and Cheques.

2. Fund Transfer Operations


• Fund Transfer to own accounts within the Bank.
• Fund Transfer to other Customer’s account(s) within the Bank.
• NEFT – Fund Transfer to other Bank’s account(s).
3. Payments
• Bill Payments – BSES, MTNL, LIC of India, Vodafone etc.
• Scheduled repetitive bill payments.
• External payments viz. IRCTC (For Railway Reservation), E-Seva.
• Fund Transfer Facility for Sharekhan.com, DB (International) Ltd. etc.
4. Mails
Customer can send mails for clarification of various queries and receive certain information from
the bank.

5. Activity:
You can inquire your various financial and non-financial activities performed during a period of
time.

6. Customize
You can customize your various information like Change your passwords, Add Nick names to
your accounts, Change Date Format, Amount format etc.
