Proposal of Cartography Project Progression

Title : Golf Club in Peninsular Malaysia.

Type of map : The type of map that we will produce is interactive thematic map
because it is closely related to our project title.

Data : Roughly, the data to be map covers the guidance of travel route
and also the route in Golf Club, the activities, services and
facilities provided in Golf Club.

The base map we use is get from E-map JUPEM. Data

about location, activities, services and facilities get from web site
www.pahangtourism.com.my

Justification : 1) To serve complete and useful information to tourists about

Golf Club in Peninsular Malaysia.

2) To help Malaysian government in promoting tourism industry

parallel to visit Malaysia advertisement.

3)Give first view or impression about Golf Club and

instantaneously grab the tourist’s attention with interactive map.
Methodology

1) Design process

- The problem to be solved is to prepare a thematic map which is the

guidance about National Park in Peninsular Malaysia.

- Travel route from the city center of Pahang; Kuantan.

- Information about whole schedule inside the National Park including the
activities, services and facilities provided in National Park.

2) Design refinement

- Base map get from E-map JUPEM (topographic map). We use

1: 10 000 for the map scale.

- For map in Taman Negara, we refer to website as stated before as

guidance.

- Printed paper size is A3.

- The budget we will spend is about RM300.00

 3) Analyze

- We use symbol for activities and other symbol for others.

- We use CYMK color to plot the map on printed paper.

- By using Adobe Illustrator, Flash multimedia to create our map and

presentation.

4) Implementation

- Our final product is map production.

- Presentation in Macromedia flash 8 software.

Work Schedule

1st Week

- Briefing to introduction of cartography project.

- Topic was given to each of group: Group A, Group B and Group C. We
decide our self the subtopic from vote.
- Each of group divided by differences theme of thematic map project.

2nd Week

- We settle on preliminary ideas such as gain general information about

National Park from internet (www.pahangtourism.com.my).

- Search for the map that will be use as base map.

3rd Week

- Collect the information about National Park that related to our map title.

- Discuss about the main page of our interactive map looks like.

4th Week

- Start to digitizing base map in Adobe Illustrator software.

5th Week

- Design the illustration and animation of our interactive map using

Macromedia flash 8 software.

6th Week

- Design the illustration and animation of our interactive map using

Macromedia flash 8 software.

7th Week

- Design the illustration and animation of our interactive map using

Macromedia flash 8 software.

8th Week

- Design the illustration and animation of our interactive map using

Macromedia flash 8 software.

9th Week

- Final touch-up on designing the illustration and animation of our interactive

map using Macromedia flash 8 software.

10th Week

- Presentation
