Strategic challenges for the logistics industry

The logistics sector is stirring with mergers and acquisitions, leading to consolidation
and the creation of a handful of big global players.
In the light of these developments, is there still room for smaller players?
How can technology help to make logistics companies remain competitive?
How can they leverage the opportunities created by Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)?
Sixteen industry leaders – logistics players, academics and end users – gathered at Xi Yan
Restaurant at Craig Road on 10 March, 2006 to deliberate and discuss these developments.
They were taking part in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)-SingTel
