Application
Installation Procedure
You require an iTunes account to install this “Airtel Call Home” application on your iPhone. Please refer
the Procedure to create an iTunes account at the end of this document.
Install the application directly via iPhone

1. From the iPhone home screen, tap the “App Store” application icon to browse Apple iPhone App
Store
2. Search for “Airtel”
3. Select the Airtel Call Home Application binary named “Airtel”
4. Binary will be installed directly on iPhone
Download on PC and install

1. From the Airtel Call Home web site you will get a URL to Apple iPhone App Store for the iPhone
application. Click this URL to download the binary with “.app.zip” extension on your PC desktop.
2. Right click this ZIP file after download and extract to Desktop
3. It will extract a folder with “.app” extension on your PC Desktop
4. If you haven’t done so already, download Apple iTunes application from
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
5. Launch iTunes application on your PC
6. Click the “Applications” link under the “Library” menu. In case you can’t see the “Applications”
menu, go to “EditPreferencesGeneral” and make sure the “Applications” check box is
checked.
7. Drag the “.app” folder to the iTunes window
8. Connect your iPhone to your PC
9. Use the “Sync” button to sync this application to your iPhone
10. The application should install itself

Application Usage
1] After installation tap on Airtel application icon to launch an

application.

2] Splash screen will get launched.

3] You will see the Terms and Conditions screen with “agree”and“disagree”
options. User selects “agree” to continue to use the application or “disagree” to
exit the application.

4] If you choose to disagree the Terms and Conditions then a pop up

will prompt you to exit the application.

5] Once you agree to the Terms and Conditions then an account details
screen will ask you for the details like local access number, account
number and PIN number. You can choose to save these details or
cancel this screen.
IMPORTANT: Set the “new account?” switch needs to “ON” if you are
using the Airtel Call Home account number for the first time ever.

IMPORTANT: Turn “ON” the “registered number?” switch if you have

registered your number on Airtel Call Home site. If you have not
registered your number leave it switched “OFF”. Registering your
number helps in reducing the time you take to connect to your
destination number.

6] Now you will see the application home screen. The Home screen has
three buttons named, “all contacts”, “recent contacts” and “options”.

7] “all contacts” button will launch the address book of iPhone.

8] Tap the desired contact from your iPhone address book to initiate a
phone call to that phone number using the Airtel Call Home application.
Before initiating a call, you would see a brief pop up indicating

approximate amount of time it would take to connect the call based on
your account details configured in the “Options” screen.


9] “recent contacts” button will show your recently dialed contacts.

10] Tap any recent contact to initiate a phone call to that number using
the Airtel Call Home application.


11] “options” button will launch a pop up with different options like
“edit account details”, “help”, ”about”and “cancel”.

12] “edit account details” option launches the account details screen
where you can edit the account related information such as, “local
access number”, “account number” ,”PIN” and the “new contact?”
switch. Set the “new account?” switch if you are using the Airtel Call
Home account number first time ever. If you have already used the
account, turn this switch to OFF position.

Note: Leave the PIN number field empty if you haven’t enabled it on
your Airtel call home web account. When PIN field is empty, PIN
number dialing will be skipped by the application otherwise it will be
dialed.
Help and About screens: The Help screen provides brief help about
using the application. About screen shows the copyright message.

NOTE:-
1. If the contact number starts with “011” and the total number of
digits in the number is 9 or more, the leading digit string “011”
will be replaced with a “00” and this will result in an international
call from USA/Canada. For example, if the contact number is
“011 91 22 1234 5678”, the number actually dialed by the
application would be “00 91 22 1234 5678”.
2. If the contact number starts with “011” and is followed by 8
digits, the number would be treated as an India number and
dialed as is. For example, if the contact is a Delhi number “011-
1234 5678”, it will be dialed as is.
3. If the contact number starts with a single ‘0’, it will be dialed as it
is (call will go to India)
4. If the contact number starts with ‘00’ it will be dialed as it is
(treated as an international number)
5. If the contact number starts with a ‘+’, it will be replaced with a
‘00’ and dialed (international call)
6. If the contact number starts with no prefix, it will be assumed to
be an India number and the application will prefix a ‘0’ and dial.
7. Registering your number will help reducing the dialing time.

Procedure to create an iTunes account
It is mandatory to have an iTunes account in order to be able to

download the application from the Apple iPhone App Store. This
section provides step by step instructions on creating an account.
Prerequisite to the following steps is to have the Apple iTunes

application installed on your PC.
1] If you don’t have an apple ID then, open iTunes, and click the iTunes
Store link on the left. If you don’t have iTunes installed on his/her
machine Visit http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and download iTunes
from the website to your PC.


2] Click the Sign In link on the top of this page.

3] A popup will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID. Click
“Create New Account”.

4] Click Continue to create your account.

5] Check the box to accept the Store Terms and Conditions after you
have read the terms and conditions and click Continue.

6] Enter your email address, password, security question, and your date
of birth. You may check the boxes to receive email notifications from
Apple as stated at the bottom of this screen.

7] Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Choose your

preferred method.

8] Enter the information asked for

9] If you get the Address Verification screen just verify your county and
click “Done”.
10] An email will be sent to you to verify your account…

11] Click on the link you received in your email to verify your account,
iTunes will launch and you’re prompted to enter in the Apple ID and
Password you just created.

11] Your account is successfully created!
