«  To set the stage for the project,
each team is expected to identify the environment for their project. This
project environment will set the stage for all the team¶s actions and decisions
for the rest of the project. Present two or three pages to describe your

requirement received from your client. Try to get as much information as you
can from your client or sponsor. This will lay the ground work for scoping the

 Team Charter is the only tool that will help the
project team work together and handle any disagreements. It gives the
project team direction clarity to ensure achievement of their goal(s). It will
help the team to avoid derailing, save time, minimize the impact of
intergroup disagreement, and support achievement their goal(s). A good
team charter should include at least the following:

a Who is involved
a Roles and responsibilities of each
a Team goal and objectives
a Internal and external communication
a Decision making process
a Define team success
a How will we know we arrived there
a What resources do we need, what resources are available? How will the
team fill the gap?
a What constraints are we facing?
a How will we work together? What are the ground rules?
a How will we hold one another accountable for producing deliverables and
for the success of the project?
a How will we appreciate and recognize one another?
a Reward, and any negative consequence for the high and non performers
a How are we going to celebrate the team successes?
a How are we going to learn from our mistakes?

It is important for team members to invest as much time as possible to


produce a workable team charter. Should the need arise for Dr. xahmy to
impose academic penalty on any team member, then the team charter is
the first document that will be consulted to determine how the team agreed
such a penalty would be assessed.
