Do you wish to provide an answer? Then this is the master’s programme for you!

Christianity is as dynamic and relevant as it has ever been. Its impact
on society can be felt around the world – in international politics,
economy, arts and cultural ideologies, whose subsequent clashes
reverberate around the globe. The way people live Christianity has been
transformed with the advent of modernity. Today, globalisation presents
new challenges, from the need for interreligious dialogue to changing
social expectations towards the Christian churches.
You will learn
Christianity and Society is your opportunity to delve deeply into a
fascinating and cross-disciplinary subject area. You will gain a deep
understanding of the complex interaction between Christianity and
society from both sides: how Christianity influences society and how
society has an effect on the teachings and tenets of Christianity.
Type and duration • Christianity in Dialogue with the Modern Arts
Degree: Master of Arts. You can complete your degree in one year • Christianity in Dialogue with the World Religions
full-time study or two years part-time study.

• An interest in Christianity and in the workings of religion and society; • Master Thesis (12 ECTS)
• A Dutch academic bachelor’s degree or an equivalent (international)
qualification, for example two years studying philosophy and four Career perspective
years of theology at any (inter)diocesan seminary; Christianity and Society provides excellent preparation for senior positions
• If you have a bachelor’s degree from a non-university institution in religious and church organisations, in government and non-governmental
of higher education, you will need to complete a pre-master’s organisations (NGO’s), in the social and economic sphere (e.g. adviser or
programme (only offered in Dutch); manager) and in the media.
• A basic knowledge of Christianity (a reading list is available to
improve your basic knowledge of Christianity and theology); Contact us
