a Determining the anchor points and installing the expansion bolt

assembly (unit: mm)

According to the Space Requirements of the IBBS, determine the position of the cabinet on the
concrete floor.

Use a Ф16 drill bit to drill holes at the marked positions. Ensure that the depth of the
holes ranges from 52 mm to 60 mm.
Use a cleaner to clean the dust inside and around the holes.
Measure the spacing between the holes. If the spacing has an error, relocate and drill
another hole before installing the expansion bolt assembly.
Align the expansion bolt assemblies with the holes and then use a rubber hammer to
strike each assembly until the expansion tube is completely buried into the hole.
b Fixing the base
Use a level bar to measure the levelness of each section of the base. If necessary, level the base
by adding one or more adjusting pads.

c Adjusting the levelness of the base

You should test the levelness in both directions. Check whether the
level vial stays in the center of the level, if not, add adjusting pads
under the cabinet base to ensure that the cabinet base is kept level
after adjustment.

e Installing the PMU/PSUs

Determine the position for installing

the PMU and PSUs . Setting the DIP switch on the PMU
(1100).

Place the PMU or PSUs in the corresponding slot or slots, and then loosen the
screws on the handle of the PMU or PSU panel by using a straight screwdriver.

Slide the PSU along the guide rails into the slot and then push the handle
in position , Fasten the screws on the handle.
f Installing the Batteries for the APM30
Before installation, set the MCB labeled Bat under the rectifier to
OFF to avoid a high current.
Connect the cables to wiring terminals BAT(-) and BAT(+)
on the power supply subrack respectively.

g Installing the Input Power Cable of the APM30 Power Cabinet

Remove the short-circuiting bars .(Attention)

Connect the OT terminals to the AC input wiring terminals labeled L1, L2, L3,
and N on the PDU.

b Installing the BBU Cables
Install the power cable. Connect the OT terminal of the power cable to the LOAD
terminal on the APM30H, and then fix the 3W3 connector of the power cable to the
PWR port on the BBU.
Connect the BBU power cable to the 12 A LOAD terminal.

Connect the RRU power cable to one of the LOAD4 to LOAD9 terminals.
Install the CPRI optical cable. Connect one end of the optical cable to the CPRI0, CPRI1,
or CPRI2 port on the GTMU panel of the BBU and the other end to the CPRI_W port on the
RRU.
a. Insert the optical module
into the CPRI0, CPRI1, or
CPRI2 port, and then turn
outwards the puller on the
optical module.

Determine lengths of power cables for different

operations according to the scales on the inner
side of the cover plate of the cabling cavity.

Based on the determined length, remove the

jacket and shielding layer off the power cable.

Remove the jacket from each wire.

Add an OT terminal to each wire.

Strip a 15 mm jacket off the power cable to

reveal the shielding layer of the power cable

The assembling of OT terminals to the power cable must be complete before the RRU is installed on a
metal pole.

b Installing the RRU on the Pole
1. Install the main fixture.

1. When installing the main fixture,

ensure that the arrow on the main
fixture is upward.
2. When installing the main fixture,
ensure that the contact piece on the
fixture is fixed.

Contact piece
It is recommended that the bottom of the
highest main fixture be 1200 mm to 1600
mm above the ground for easy
maintenance.

2. Install the auxiliary fixture between the nuts of the dual-nut bolt assembly on the main
fixture.

Ensure that the arrow

on the auxiliary fixture
is upward.

the auxiliary fixture

TIP: You may fit one end of the auxiliary fixture on one dual-nut bolt assembly and then
the other end on the other dual-nut bolt assembly during the installation.
Installing the DC RRU3008
3. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the nut until the fastening torque is 35 N•m to 40 N•m.
In this way, the main and auxiliary fixtures are secured on the pole.

Fasten the two dual-nut bolt assemblies

alternatively. After the brackets are secure, use a
tape to measure the spacing between the main
bracket and the auxiliary bracket at the two sides
and ensure that the spacing is the same.

4. Install the RRU on the main bracket. When you hear a click, you can infer that the RRU
is in position.

The screw is a non-fixed one and can be

neglected during the installation.
It is only used when the RRU is removed.

The RF port at the bottom of the RRU does not have load bearing capacity. Do not place the
RRU on the ground on its bottom during the installation.

RF Part Installation
1 Assemble the Antenna

1. The antenna described in this guide is an 800MHz directional antenna of Huawei.

For installation of other antennas, see the relative manuals.
2. The assembly of three antennas is complete on the ground.

a Assemble the support

b Fix the support onto the antenna

Fix the upper support

Fix the lower support Finished

2 Connect Jumpers to the Antenna
a Connect jumpers

1. Use six jumpers with fixed length.

2. (Optional) If no jumper with a fixed
length is available, cut a jumper into
proper lengths and fix DIN male
connectors to both ends of the jumpers.
Optional

b Stick color rings

1. Ensure that the color rings are in the

correct direction and positions. Wrap the
jumpers with 2 or 3 layers of tape to
make the color rings. The distance
between neighboring color rings is 10
mm to 15 mm.
2. Stick the first color ring at the position
200 mm away from the jumper connector.

c Seal the connectors

Wrap three layers of Wrap three layers of Fix the cable ties Finished
waterproof tape insulation tape

1. When wrapping the tape, ensure that the upper layer covers more
than 50% of the lower layer.
2. Before wrapping the waterproof tape, stretch the tape till the width
of the tape becomes 1/2 of the original. Stretch each layer of the
waterproof tape and wrap each layer around the jumpers tightly.
3 Lift the Antenna

1. Installers A and B climb onto the tower. Installer B fixes the fixed pulley onto the
support of the tower platform and puts the lifting rope through the fixed pulley.

2. Installer D uses plastic bags or tape to wrap the jumper connectors and then
coils the jumpers. Fasten the lifting rope to the upper support of the antenna
and the traction rope to the lower support.

3. Installer C pulls down the lifting rope, and installer D pulls the traction rope
outwards to prevent the antenna from hitting the tower.

4. Installers A and B hold the antenna and unfasten the ropes.

5. After three antennas are lifted onto the platform, do not remove the fixed pulley,
because the feeder needs to be lifted later.
